AUGs are the spawn of Satan. Avoid at all costs. Burn an effigy of them in the street.

Yeah AUG's were just designed horribly. G36's are a much nicer design in terms of structure.

In terms of airsoft the G36 is a better replica. Better parts availability, better mag availability, and fewer "always break" parts.

The advantage the AUG has is its super easy to get to the barrel and gearbox for modification.

YMMV.

As far as durability the G 36 wins. I own a CA version of both. The AUG rocks as far as functioning goes. The main thing to watch on the AUG is the fore grip which has an annoying habit of breaking when you fall on it.

I have an AUG and a G36 c for sale if you are interested. PM me

If you get the full length G36 be very careful of hitting the barrel on things, the casting that attaches the forward barrel assembly is very narrow at one point. Other than that I really liked my CA G36, it shoots very well.

I had a classic army AUG and it was crap. The foregrip is super wobbly, the charging handle broke and the battery space is pretty limited. I would go for the G36.

Go with the Ares/Umrex G36C. H&K trade marks, easy spring swap, plastic but very durable and light.

I don't agree. Having a huge hole in the back of the gearbox seems like a huge design flaw to me. I'd say go with a CA or a KWA even if you don't feel like upgrading both brands will do you right.

You're going to get the G36, but I'll vote for the CA Aug. I love mine and my G36 was always such a pain in my a$$.
