EOtech replicas

Postby Blitzkreig » Tue Feb 01, 2011 8:00 pm

I have been looking into getting one of these for quite some time, and now have to decide which one. My main concern is the quality. From EbayBanned, they have replicas for considerably cheaper than AONW. Is there any difference in the quality? It is difficult to tell because these replicas often go without brand names. Should I spend less money on one from China, or way more for one here, when they are the same quality?

they are going to be similar in quality. the big difference is how long it takes to get it. EBB can be WEEKS for shipping these days, since they are so overwhelmed. you can walk in to AONW or have it shipped the next day.

I don't care when it gets here. Free shipping and a lower price equals big smiley face.

just take in to consideration that there is a pretty high failure rate with cloned Eotechs and if you get one from ebaybanned then you're stuck with it... AONW will replace it no hassle

This.

Paying a little more is well worth the customer service that Outlet gives. Plus, you get to hang out with Abe.

Yeah, I was thinking that. I like AONW more anyway. Okey dokey then, all is settled. To Cornelius!

I recently bought one by G&P and have been very pleased with it. Very nice build quality and bright enough for sunny day use (a problem with some other eotech replicas). Not rattling or visible dimming when you shake it either, solid as a rock.

On a side note get the 522 version because it takes 2 AA batteries, and not some oddball type.

Look at this: http://www.weaponblender.com/index.php?productID=1013

I got one and I couldn't be happier with it (as far as what you pay for it); I've been using it for 8 months without a hiccup. The sight has some minor ghosting, but it's more than bright enough to see the reticle in the sunlit Arizona desert. For $50, you can't go wrong with this Eotech. As far as the website goes, I've made 5 or so orders in the past 2 months and every order has gotten to me within a week of paying for it; might as well be GI or Evike.

I don't really care about ghosting or visibility, I actually just want it for the looks. When I say quality I mean of the metal, durability, mount strength, etc...

Actually EBaybanned has amazing customer service. They will send you a replacement should you receive one that is non functional. Plus they are the same clones that everyone else is selling for 30 bucks more so why pay the extra cost and the shipping charges for the same hardware. If its not a EOtech original you aren't paying for quality. You are paying for something that will simply be adequate.
But if you are really only going for the look and don't expect to actually use the sight then just get a junkyard one from Airsplat. They have two on their boneyard right now. one that won't turn on and another that has a cracked lens.

The less you pay the less you get, so avoid the no name china brands get the G&P eotechs, great build quality and looks.

No, not really. I couldn't see a difference in quality between a G&P EOTech 553 and my ACM 552. Only difference was $90 in price.

the problem with ACM (All china made or something) sights is that everyone is different, some ACMs might be made of pot metal or plastic others might be made of aluminum.

I received mine from weaponblender.com and I'm happy with my purchase. Mine did not came with any markings "For law enforcement/military use" and came with the yellow sticker "laser warning" which was not a big deal. The product is very durable, the battery case lever, screw, rail and housing is made of metal. Battery cover is hard plastic. Takes 2x AAA batteries. Lastly, Weaponblender.com is helpful in solving problems on orders. So far I am pleased with their service.
