M14 Warm-Up

Postby Switchback » Mon Feb 07, 2011 9:47 pm

I have a CYMA CMO32 M14. It has less than 2,000 rounds through it, and has seen only light use as an designated marksman's rifle. It was blowing fuses like crazy, so I bypassed it. After about 150 more rounds, I unplugged the battery, satisfied with its function. Now, whenever I plug the battery in I need to hold the trigger for about 5 seconds before it fires. After doing that about 3 times, I get great trigger response. Any idea what is going on?

You're damaging your motor, fuses are meant to protect against that. I'd fix whatever is jamming your gearbox before I tried to use it if I were you.

Okay. Even though I only use 8.4's in that gun. I replaced the fuse, and it works fine now. Weird.

Thanks.

Did you replace it with the same rating fuse? Or did you use a different one?

It might be the wiring.

This. If you put a lower rating fuse in, it'll keep blowing them up. If your putting in the same rating/ higher rating and its still doing that, something is wrong with your GB.

sounds like the gun needs a reshim, and maybe the installation of bearings instead of bushings if it doesn't already have them. new motor wouldn't hurt either.

at this point, your trigger contacts probably need some work as well. for future reference, when something isn't working right its usually not a good idea to keep doing it without figuring out the root of the problem. chances are, its only going to get worse that way.

I used a heavier-duty fuse. 14 volt, I think. Whatever though. It works now.

Have fun destroying your gun...

Fuses are meant to protect. Since you obviously don't know what you are doing, you should take it to someone who knows what they are doing so you don't really shazaam shit up.

You too! <3

Seriously, I got it fixed. It doesn't sound, feel, or act abnormal. Compared to a G&G M14 the other day, it is just a little quieter.

No this is my "socom" length M14. That is my baby. STAY AWAY FROM MY BABY! No the one I was trying to sell you is a regular length one.

so my gun is doing the same exact thing and i want to replace the fuse with a heavier duty one but will i really destroy my gun? I want to try a fuse of the same power and then a heavier duty one before i send it to AONW. Is this a good idea?
