M4 11.1v Lipo Motor Trouble

Postby Hayden M. » Sat Feb 26, 2011 8:02 pm

I have my Classic Army M15A4 on a 11.1v but it only has a trigger response 3/5 times on semi and 4/5 times on full auto. Is this the batteries fault? The motors?

Someone else had this same problem but I still wanted to check

Possible same issue as yours, I opened the gear box on my M4 AEG (version 2 gearbox) yesterday and it revealed a broken piston head and a broken spur gear (one of the tooth on the gear was chipped). It will fire and stop, fire and stop again, probably because every time the spur gear cycles it jams on the chipped part. This happened after using 11.1v lipo battery. Overall, I recommend having somebody open the gearbox for you or if you have enough knowledge you should take it apart. Drive to AONW if you can and have them check it.

an 11.1 is most likely too much battery for a stock M15A4 unless it's the newer blowback model that uses the same gearbox as the PSD. i wouldn't be surprised if things are not the way they are supposed to be on the inside of your gun anymore. unless a gun is specifically lipo ready, the biggest lipo i would use is a 7.4. it will still perform like most 9.6v batteries, and it wont make your guts blow up.

long story short, its probably going to need someone competent to perform surgery on it. i heartily recommend AONW, they are backlogged on guns for a couple of weeks but the tech there is a goddamn magician.

So true, he has been the only one to fix my G36 hop-up. (I'm sure you guys saw that gun come in to the shop a lot...)

If you don't live near Cornelius, then it is kind of a phony pony to drive an hour out and an hour back. Just plan on what your going to do to save gas money, and AONW will even ship it back to you if you drop it off.

Only Techs I have let work on my guns so far and have been nothing but happy with the work. Worth every penny of the cost and the time it is in the shop is worth it also since you know it is done right.

I can work on it again if you'd like. It sounds like the trigger contacts need cleaning.

If I pull the trigger harder than normal it will shoot. Is that the trigger contacts then?

Could be the spring that connects to the trigger contact. Sounds like that
