Yes, as long as it is pure. The spray is nice to service GBB rifles and handguns as well. Quite a multi-purpose product.

Some will say the spray is better, however, in my experience, the droppers are better. You get a very controlled amount, and it goes directly where you want it to (unless you shake more than Michael J. Fox after a cup of coffee).

You can always put the spray nozzle close to the propane can, but for the sake of using it for multiple things (and convenience) just pick up a can at a hardware store.

(you could also spray the lube into a dropper bottle/syringe and use that as a dropper)

Why go through all those steps (loading into another bottle, hold it close to things,...) when you can just purchase a dropper bottle of silicone oil and be done with it? You shouldn't be saturating any one part with oil (except O-rings, and that should be done in a small dish...)...

What are you using it for? For airsoft mechanics, I prefer White Lithium grease. I got a rattle-can of it at Fredmeyer for like $4 or something like that. It stays in place very well, and provides excellent lubrication.

I think we were assuming that he was using it as an additive for his propane.

Just a guess.

I'll have to swing by Fred Myer an pick some up then.

EDIT: As you can see, my guess was dead wrong.

I was using it to put a hopup together with the bucking and stuff. Didn't want to wait 3-5 business days or drive 1hr and a half for the dropper. So went to ace and found one that said it works well with rubber.

The best thing for that application would be teflon tape as used for plumbing/piping.

It doesn't. He probably thought you were trying to seal the bucking better. Glad you found something that worked.

Put the bucking over the barrel, wrap it a couple times in teflon tape (make sure to wrap it from the bucking onto the barrel as well), and slowly twist the assembly into the hopup unit. This will create a better air-seal, and make it easier to remove in the future if you replace a bucking/barrel again.

Edit: It doesn't help? Explain? With some of my builds, the only way to get the barrel/bucking and hopup unit assembled was to use teflon tape because it was such a tight fit. If they slide in easily, your hopup unit is probably crap and will cause compression issues.
