KWA SR10 hopup issue, help!

Postby MAB » Mon Feb 28, 2011 10:51 pm

Hey guys, I was out playing yesterday and when I was testing the accuracy before the game I shot and the BB curved down, naturally I adjusted the hop, but I soon realized that no matter how much I adjusted the hop up for the BB to snip up it continued to spin down. I need help, anyone know how to fix this?

Thanx

Have you opened up the hop-up recently?

So I gather that no matter how much hop up you adjust onto the bb, there is no visible effect?

Try removing the unit and checking the alignment of everything, then add or reinstall the nub. This should solve your problem; I did this on an SR10 about a year ago with positive results.

Is the gun new? You may have excess packing grease in the system still. Clean out the barrel with gun cleaning cloths and remove the bucking and wash it in a light soapy water and let air dry. Don't use any kind of silicone or lubricants in the process.
Make sure your bucking and nub are installed properly and you should be good to go.

Same thing happened to my gun, no hop-up new out of the box (devgru) and my friend's sr10. My opinion is that all KWA's are basically lemons. I had to open my new gun and fix it before I even used it. Then you go to buy a replacement bucking and it's $14 bucks? What a joke. AND all their parts are proprietary and sometimes the pro-store doesn't even have them in stock. The joke is that the whole idea of a KWA is that it is pre-upgraded, at least that's what they sell you on... Yeah, pre-upgraded to SUCK.

Next time i'm buying a G&P.

I've had to reseat barrels (and replace buckings in most cases) in MOST of the guns I've bought, including KWA (and RealSword, for that matter).

Sure, and all my Cyma / Dboys AK's are great straight from the box. Same with my G&G and TM.

I'm just saying that with KWA you're not getting what you pay for. My Devgru was supposedly LiPo ready... they even send a little paper in the box recommending 11.1 Lipoly. But it didn't work with 11.1: ROF was too high and was double feeding / bb's were going 10ft. Had to open the whole gearbox, fix the cylinder compression and put in a new spring and fix the hopup. Still having hopup problems. KWA = fail.

I have 2 KWA M$ RIS and they both have that same problem. I posted for some help on the KWA forums. I cleaned the barrell and the hop up as described. I only got partial results.

New bucking from a different manufacturer?

The new bucking might solve your problem, but I would certainly check for the presence of a nub. There just might be nothing in the unit that applies direct contact to the bucking; therefore, you would not be getting any backspin on your BB.

Did it just start doing this or was that the first time you ever tried to shoot it?

Yep, the first time. Ive been wanting to upgrade the stock bucking to the Madbull Blue Hop Bucking, do you think that would fix the problem?

Possibly, depending on weather or not you have/don't have a damaged unit. I would recommend it anyways because then you either have more parts for future problems, or a better bucking.
