Cyma M14 SOCOM Cleaning Rod Question

Postby Wisenheimer » Sun Apr 10, 2011 10:14 pm

I bought a used Cyma M14, and there was no cleaning rod included. I have a cleaning rod I can use, but I read somewhere that you don't want to push the cleaning rod past the mark on the rod. How far into the barrel should I go? Or should I just be super careful?

Some people say that you can damage the hop up if you don't turn it off beforehand. While this might be true, it seems to me that it would just mess with your settings. Either way, I turn mine off just to be safe.

Also, just stop whenever you hit resistance. If the barrel is relatively clean and your hop up is off, the only thing that the cleaning rod will run into is the air nozzle. This shouldn't break to easily, but there's no need to start hitting it for random reasons.
This is my signature. Hear it roar.
