CA Slr-105 Conversion question

Postby Odin's Hammer » Sat Apr 16, 2011 10:42 pm

i have an older ca slr-105 laying around that has been through hell and back but served me well, im building a pmc loadout and would like to bring new life to this gun, ive found a source picture for what id like to attempt and would like to know if its possible and where i should start.

im pretty well deadset on getting something as similar to this as possible, if it means i need to buy a new gun so be it, but if possible id like to go with the current model i have now.

note: guess i should specify i could care less about the attachments and what not im interested in the rail system and barrel, as well as the front gun sight, ill be keeping a full stock rather than folding as well.

Somebody's doing a fairly similar build on Arnie's. If nothing else, use it as a baseline. :)

To me it looks like a railed piston tube, and a lower RIS with a short barrel. Someone can correct me if I am wrong.

I don't know if you can do the stock, but I'm pretty sure the RIS would be fine.

Why? CA AK's are TM compatible, not VFC/dboys compatible so I'd think you would need an airsoft RIS.

Some RIS rails for the AK are barrel clamped and not held in by the handguard rings.

So all you need to do is take the hand guards off, put the top rail back on and clamp it.

Be warned: I have that gun & the receiver's made of a cheap magnesium alloy. The rear receiver stock tab broke when I took it apart to re-attach wiring that got loose before I had a chance to even try out the gun. :banghead:
