Bucking issue

Postby B.O.P. Hawk » Wed Apr 20, 2011 6:45 pm

Right now I am working on an Echo 1 ASC SCAR-L. It has a hop up issue and jumps way up at about fifty feet. I'm pretty new to working on AEG's, but know my way around the insides of one.

Main problem: The built in "false nub" on the bucking is too big.

On the lowest hop setting, it is still really low into the barrel, unless the real nub is not even installed.
I was thinking of shaving down the hop up arm, but I don't want to permanently damage the weapon.

What should I do?

Shave it down! you can always add more on later if needed. Just grind off about 1mm, then you should be fine.

A file or a clipper should work.

Isn't that dangerous? I don't want to rip the bucking...

would the best way be to just hold the bucking or put it in the unit, or what.

*skepticism rises*

Can you take a picture of exactly what the problem is?

Try a different bucking.

I'm not sure the bucking is the problem, if it's the hop-up arm, then take your hop-up out, take the barrel + bucking out, then remove the pivot arm, and hop-up nub. Grind down a little bit of the pivot arm, then put everything back together.
