G&G FNC

Postby Lumberjack » Sun Apr 24, 2011 8:59 pm

Anybody have any experience with the G&G FNC? How is accuracy? Reliability? I was thinking about getting one soon but I haven't had a lot of personal experience with it. Thanks

They have super-nice construction, and they run smoothly out of the box. I haven't gotten any long-term feedback on them yet.

I looked here after holding a buddy's FNC on Saturday.

This confirms it; sadness at lack of 3 burst, but other than that it was nice...Still, I'd go with something shorter. This is about as long as an M14, and that's mostly front heavy.

yeah they are real heavy and long, the butt folds down. and the guys at aonw said the one they tested the 3 round burst did work.....so im getting mixed reviews there also an awesome point to it though is the mags are capatable with the M4 mags...which i have so no buying different pouches or too many more mags as they are interchangeable. the reviews ive read say and show they are very accurate up to almost 220 ft.

The as yet unreleased ICS FNC has functional 3 round burst. The G&G one doesn't unless you modify it with a programmable MOSFET.

Thanks for the info. It definitely helps, and 220 foot range sounds awesome.

i coulda sworn jesse told me the 3-round works on the G&Gs. its one of the things he was trying to talk me into buying it with.

The rifles does not fire 3 round bursts just like commie said.

Just for looks and will fire full auto when selected in the 3 round position.

Got your PM StinkyApe. My friend's is in my room.. He's at college and it's never been fired. Should be able to share more on accuracy & how it shoots when he returns to Oregon in 2 weeks.

My old thread about the thing.

Construction is damn awesome. Honestly one of the most solid feeling guns I've ever touched, right up there with the RS SVD and Echo1 M240 in terms of feeling impressive.

It's very long, which is awesome. I suggest you go for the Long variant, the other one (which seems to be about M4-length) would be cutting yourself short I think in terms of overall sexiness.

The G&G FNC's 3-round burst is not functional, but it does rotate there and look nice. In the thread I listed we explored making it functional, and basically concluded it would be pretty impossible.

Nevertheless, I've heard mixed speech on guns like the Marui Type 89, which sports a functional mechanical (non-mosfet) three-round burst. Word is that they tend to jam on occasion, but some other guy said he'd had one for 2 years without that ever happening.
So rather the non-functionality of the triple shot feature is a good or bad is hard for me to say.

[joke]Everyone loves RedDragonAirsoft[/joke], and his video review did seem to show pretty impressive accuracy. I’d heard good things about the range of this gun.

Like I said, the build is amazing. It might be a little on the big and long side for some people (about 9 lbs I think, that’s what she said), but you’ve just gotta be a man to handle really cool guns. If I was more of a man, I’d probably get one myself.

The fact that it takes STANAG (M4/M16 mags) is super handy. 75 rnd Pmags and 190 rnd MAG midcaps seem to test fit well in this gun. So, all I can make testament to is the build, but I hear the accuracy is impressive. Like I said, can’t wait to see it shoot. We should be at Resurrection together, so watch out!

Here are some pics I took, those who are under 16 probably should consult their parents before looking ‘cuz they’re supah hawt. It’s easy to develop an intimate relationship with this gun, it’s a little naughty that I like it so, since it’s not mine.

I made the tip not orange, it’s a really nice thick metal flashhider, so you won’t have to buy a new one, and you can maintain that quintessential FNC look.

Shown here with the optional top rail for mounting optics. PS, the thing might actually work in close quarters with the sexy stock folded. Seems like a stretch, but it could happen. I find this to be one of the few gun designs that I think is super amazing and slightly exotic but not controversial. A lot of fancy or generally non-M4 weapons are an acquired taste among us Pacific-NW milsimers.

Hope that answers some questions? Sorry, I have perpetual verbal diarrhea.

Notice in the third pic Smeagol is interested in the Precious.

One other thing -- the bolt goes back extremely far. Like far enough to chamber a 5.56 NATO round. That's super pro.

Not a gun you'd be sad with. Adam said you can use it as a bat, he's right. I can't distinguish any wobble whatsoever; I can't remember holding a real assault rifle that's this creakless.

^This makes it feel astouding. I consider it to be a good thing. As I mentioned - you've gotta be a man to haul it around.

As for reliability, it's a G&G, so I'd expect good things.

This pic (from Heat) nicely depicts how skinny the gun feels from a shooter's position.

I think ol' Al opted for the short variant. For that he's a whimp, as can be seen in the next image.

I've only had one M4 that did that...after modifications. It was very nice.
As for the whole "be a man" thing, we'll see how manly you feel when you're on your 5th run to respawn because you cannot move your body while holding the rifle to bear. But who am I to throw stones...I am 6'1" and 190lbs and wield an M249 and would know a little about front heavy rifles.
TO THE OP: just be warned it ends up feeling a bit like an EBR after a while. I personally do not like the balance.

its decided scared i love it, where did you get the top rail...order it? aonw doesnt have them, thinking i could put almost up to a 4x on it and make it a semi-sniper almost with the range being as decent as it is and it would be dope looking i think....
