M249 Lower RIS

Postby S_01 » Wed Jul 13, 2011 12:01 pm

Alright, So I have a Classic Army M249 MKII from 2007. Recently I just recently purchased the Echo1 Lower RIS for it, and it came with no instructions. Does anybody have a walk through I can follow? I took off the handgaurds and I'm still having issues installing the RIS.

If you don't have any thing to say besides "no", then don't say it.

Anyways to the OP; Classic Army tend to not like items made by other manufacturers externally. I would take it out to AONW and have them look at it. I not all to famillar with the M249, but the top handguard should be on, then the RIS unit should just slide into place. If there is a fitment issue, you're going to need a new Classic Army specific M249 RIS system.

Hope this helps. :)

Call the surgeons and tell them to take the day off, because I'll be doing all the operating now.

There's a point where this needs to stop, and we've clearly passed it

Echo 1 lower RIS will fit on the CA M249. My old unit put two on theirs. You have to unscrew the three screws holding the metal bar on. Slide the RIS onto the bottom of the 249. The metal bar goes inside the SAW. Then screw the screws in. Not sure if this makes sense?

If you are still having issues PM me. You can meet me outside one of the JBLM gates and I will show you.

Golly gee mods, if you're going to modify my posts don't leave the irrelevant chains of info that then appear out of context.

These dar burn censorships!

In all seriousness, I was wondering the same thing. I have the same weapon and have considered purchasing the Echo1 rail. The AONW website does proclaim that they are compatible, so yeah. Pharoah must be right with those dandy instructions!

Sorry about the necro-postage. I realized this thread is three days old.
