Semi Automatic Over-cycling Help

Postby G36 FTW » Thu Jul 14, 2011 12:01 am

Hey guys,

I've been having issues with my G36 over-cycling on semi. Meaning, the gearbox cycles so fast that the cutoff lever cuts off after a two round burst. Almost every trigger pull on semi results with a 2 shot burst, which is a little irritating considering I nabbed a lipo for better trigger response on semi-auto.

I'm wondering if any of the more experienced techs know if there is a way to tweak the semi auto system to allow for my 11.1v lipo to function normally on semi auto. (Aside from A.B. mosfets that is, if it comes down to that, I'll nab one, but I came here first to see if there is anything I can do).

Anyway, here are the specs:

Stats:
-370fps
-~29rps
-2500mah 35c 11.1v lipo

Parts:
-Deep fire titanium tooth piston
-Deep fire aluminum piston head
-Deep fire cnc air nozzle
-Off brand (Falcon? I think...) steel cylinder head.
-Stock cylinder
-Stock Gearbox (shell)
-Prometheus Steel cutoff lever
-Element hi-torque gears
-Element tappet plate
-King arms selector plate
-G&P M160 motor
-m110 spring
-Custom wiring with homemade mosfet (non computerized, just a basic one to save the contacts)

If you need to know anything else about it just ask, and thanks in advance for any help.

PS: I have tried several different cutoff levers, with the same result.

Your battery is the issue. 35C discharge is way to much for airsoft. 15-20 is the most you wanna go.

What jester316 said. I have a VFC 416 that always does the same thing with any 11.1 Lipo. If I use a 7.4, it works fine.

KWA only recommends using a MAX 1600Mah 20C battery. You've got twice the amperage coming out of your battery. It's like flooring 550HP car out of a light and wanting it to coast to a stop at the next block.

You either need a brake or a less powerful motor (or battery).

I've worked on a many guns that have had this problem before it's similar to the famous "clicking noise" on M4s where the cutoff lever does not engage the trigger, but in the case of the 2 round burst the sector gear is not engaging the cutoff lever or the switch gets stuck “on” due to the current loads of lipos.

Try using either a different male trigger contact or a different cut off lever.
There's a difference between a person who has a screwdriver and a person who knows what they are doing.
