AUG gear box stability

Postby Gremshaw » Fri Jul 22, 2011 8:03 am

For those of you who own and work on AUGs: Do the AUG V3 Gearboxes have problems linking with the barrel? I noticed in the breakdown that there are only a few screws that hold the Gearbox in the gun behind the panel in the stock. As shown 1 minute and 28 seconds into this video

I only ask because my SPR, SCAR, and AK's are all rock solid in hopup. After those gun's performance I am a little worried about the getting the styer.

Its the same basic system that holds the P90 gear box in place as well and neither have airseal issues. My TM P90 was able to produce 400FPS with a Modify M100 spring so no leaks there ;)

They can be really good. They can also be really troublesome.

A lot of the CA AUGs should be shooting 350FPS out of the box, but they shoot like 310-330 because the seal isn't great there. It can be tweaked, but if one starts giving fits, it can take some finagling to get it lined up right.

Never had compression issues like that with my Aug.
