Red dot sight high enough?

Postby MAB » Wed Aug 24, 2011 9:09 pm

So here's the deal, I have this face mask here http://www.tippmannpros.com/v-force-pro ... e-tan.html which I like alot and has served me very well but I cant see down the sight of my KWA SR-10 with it which I've had for a little now and have gotten quite tired of aiming down the rail. So Im looking for a red dot sight that Im able to see through without any issues when resting my mask on the crane stock. I found this one here http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.p ... ts_id=8101 but my main concern is whether or not the cantilever would raise the sight high enough, would it? Or might I have to get this as well http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.p ... ts_id=3964 or would that just make it plain ugly. thoughts, suggestions...

Thanks in advance

I think it would look sweet if you got both, the red dot and the tri-mount, and then put, like, a laser or something on the tri-mount with the scope. That way it wouldn't look like you were just trying to raise your optics. Just an idea... :)

doesn't hurt to get both, even if you dont need it for the SR-10 there might be other guns you need to add some some height to the scope like my L96 when i was using my contour camera

I'd get a carry handle, the rail that goes along the top then mount your site on top of that. Its a pretty common practice for anyone that has to run a gas mask IRL.

Yeah, good carry handle rail will go a long way in terms of functionality and (in my humble opinion) style.

Cant say I really like the look of that + a carry handle is quite a bit more expensive, from what I could tell with my mask on I'd need the red dot to be about 2'' above the stock sight. With the riser mount would the UTG red dot with the cantilever raise it that high?
