Battery life is based on your Amp hours, not voltage.

See?!? When I talk about the use of the English language to get across your point, this is the kind of post I'm talking about. Do you mean how long will the battery last between charges? Or do you mean how long will the battery last before it won't take a charge anymore? Or do you mean how many shots the battery will fire when it's fully charged?

Finally, provide more information. How many amps is the battery? What kind of gun is it going into? Details matter.

I use the terms "run time" and "cycles", as these phrases are used in the radio control world where batteries are an integral part of how the vehicles run.

Run time means how long a single charge will last. Of course this can vary for each application, and how the user uses the battery. Are you running full auto, and can barely take your finger off the trigger, or do you fire in semi and only when you know it is a target you can hit? Right there, two people using the same battery would have very different run times.

Cycles means how many times can you charge/discharge the battery. If a nimh battery says it should be able to get about 100 cycles, then you can expect to charge it and then use it (one cycle), about 100 times.

Does that make sense? So, let us know what this will be used in, how you plan on using it, and with all that, we still won't be able to give you a hard answer. My suggestion is to not worry about run time. Carry enough battery with you to play a full day and then some, and you will never run out. Or, go lipo and it will never be an issue. Wait, being 15 you may want to stay with nimh for a while, because lipos can be dangerous in the wrong hands. :)

Battery life varies so much no one can give you a real life answer. It has a lot to do with efficiency and quality. Many times than not I have found that price does not reflect either.
Battery life depends on quality and efficiency of the cells, Size of the battery (mAh), efficiency of the gun (i.e. efficiency and quality of the gears (how well they mesh), shimming and the motor) how much you shot on semi vs. full auto, quality of the wire and connections.
There's a difference between a person who has a screwdriver and a person who knows what they are doing.

I usually go with the assumption that the shots per NiMh batteries is about 1 shot for every 1-2 mAh, assuming you have a correctly functioning gun of course.

EDIT: Assuming you have a non p.o.s. battery
