Help with hopup stuff (sorry for vagueness)

Postby Reeko » Mon Jun 11, 2012 8:41 pm

Alright so all 3 of my AEG's have the same problem, the hop up rubber is mashed up and about to fall out of the hopup unit, i dont know how this is happening in the first place. So that would be important to know before i replace the rubber. Is it the BB's im using, the ROF of my gun. or what.

VFC SCAR-L
KWA KG36C
ARES G36KV Sportline (non EBB version)

I have been using 11.1v lipo batteries on all of them. So the rate of fire is around 850-1000rpm (guestimate)

on the scar, the bb's dont even leave the gun, on the ares they leave the gun very inaccurately and drop at about 15-20 feet, and with the KWA the bb's fall out of the barrel when shot.

let me know if you have any suggestions on how to fix, where to improve things, or what may be my problem. if you need more info on the guns themselves. just ask......

Watch a couple of video's on youtube about installing hop up bickings. next take the barrel out and clean the crap out of it. lastly reinstall everything and try it. if it dosent work ill gladly have them

1.get new buckings
2. install new buckings
3. shoot gun with new buckings installed
4. if results are the same, check the installation of buckings.

Sounds like your buckings are just worn out.

Sounds like a problem i recently had with my m4. The hop-up bucking was installed sloppily and part of the rubber was sticking out into the feeding mech part of the hop-up causing the bbs to either not fire or roll out the barrel. Like payback said i would buy a new bucking (maybe even a new metal hop-up unit if your's are plastic) and then research how to install them properly. You could also get a hardness level 70 (not a brand name) bucking which will be harder then a normal bucking causing it to not wear out as quickly. If you do so and your guns still don't work check your magazines to make sure they're feeding properly.

+1

buckings wear out faster than anything else on an airsoft gun. Proper installation can also be difficult to figure out. I didn't figure it out for years and years.

would something like this be good? if not link me to a really good durable bucking or something that you recommend (i need 1 for each gun. and 1 spare would be nice in case it doesnt work.)

also, i plan on buying a new hopup chamber for the G36. And i was wondering if anyone had experience with this

http://www.evike.com/product_info.php?products_id=34838

and if i need to buy anything else with that chamber, like the bucking, and other rubber things that im seeing in there. Sorry i really have 0 experience with hopups. I tried to avoid them as long as i could

Bucking you're looking at should be fine although i've never used them personally so can't give you any guarantees.

If the hop up chamber isn't cracked or broken in a million pieces, then you shouldn't replace it. replacing it is justa big headache for no real improvement.

Getting the Madbull bucking in the VFC hop-up chamber on the SCAR-L is going to be a pain since it's thicker than the VFC one. I had to stick with the stock one since it's skinnier.

Madbull buckings are hard to put in anything. But if you take your time they will fit. The larger size generally gives you a better air seal and therefore a slightly higher fps if your original didn't seal up tightly.

When sliding the new bucking into the hopup, use a back and forth motion to slide it in a bit, it will stretch slightly, then back it out a hair, then slide in further, on and on. It is possible that once you get the bucking in all the way part of it will be too long, just use scissors and cut the length of it shorter so you can reinstall your clip.

In some really tight hopups you can wrap the outside of the bucking, behind the hopup window in the barrel, with Teflon tape to help it not bunch up and slide around.
