CYMA Hate (Wrong Board?)

Postby Spitfire » Sat Jun 30, 2012 12:43 am

I was looking online about the quallity of CYMA a while back just because I was curious. I found a forum entry where some kid was bashed by a bunch of airsofters jsut because he bought a CYMA CM028. The entire time they were talking about CYMA's bad tactics to promote themselves that is ruining airsoft?

My question is, WHY is CYMA hated SO much? I can understand the hate on Cybergun and Jungletoys, but I've seem some CYMA's stand up to be great airsoft guns. That's my personal opinion.

Welshy McSheeplove wrote:CYMA used to, and to some extent still do depending on model, blow donkey nuts. Their quality in some models, specifically their AKs, have risen dramatically in the past couple years though. I don't talk shit about CYMA AKs, since they're awesome entry level guns for their value.

As far as their bad tactics to promote themselves, I've never heard that about CYMA. I've only heard those accusations leveled against KWA and Echo 1.

It was junk along the lines of them selling cheap bad-quality guns to undermine high-end brands like TM, Systema, and Classic Army - Usually from younger airsofters.

If I bought a CYMA CM028 and upgraded it would I be laughed at for having a CYMA? I honestly don't give a crap, but it's got my curiosity going.

the CYMA AKs are truly some of the best AKs on the market, only catch is you dont mess with anything in the gearbox and it will work, usually novice players will want to mess with it since its a Chinese gun but their AKs are an exceptions to this rule(or actually if you want a gun to upgrade internally you shouldn't even be looking at a gun under $200)

There are plenty of tutorials on youtube for these guns, I don't see why it would hurt if you place it back together right. Many people have done open-gearbox modifications and their gun shoots great. I have also been told that cheap chinese guns are great "blank slates", for most DO cost under $200 and you can work on them to your heart's extent and get what you want without shelling out big bucks. Kind of like building a PC instead of buying a Mac.

Can you build a Mac? Is that an option? I've never heard of anyone doing that.

Not really, they have extra options on their website for upgrades, but they are redicuously expensive. Off topic.

I'm sorry this is off topic, But you can build a mac just like any other computer, you can buy normal pc parts in most cases, you don't have to buy the super expensive stuff on the apple website

#derailledthread.

Or say shazaam it, and run Windows 7 on your MacBook. Too bad you can't run all the fancy upgrades a PC can use.

Now, this guy--->

(I kind of got it already running boot camp, and I prefer a Windows OS to a Mac OS)

On topic:

Bitches be hatin' on them CYMAs. But that's because of the reputation China gave itself with the things they supply to America in the past.

People have CYMA stuff running hard forever. Sometimes, though, not externally. Maybe not even internally. But, if it's an AK, who cares? duct tape that thing together.

Only will their AKs hold up to abuse though apparently.

Well, I guess making on great gun is better then making no great guns. And yeah, I'm kind of dissapointed in the abundance of plastic on some guns, but with such a low budget gun, I guess that's what you get. I did however have a Galaxy Mp5k(the body is full plastic except for a couple things) and I was suprised at how good the plastic is for the money. I've dropped the guns on rocks before and didn't even have serious scratches, however I personally do not like the gun itself.

The thing that turns me on about AKs though is the V3 gearbox. I want to upgrade the spring to a M120, and it'd be nice to run it at ~18 RPS without worrying about a cracked gearbox. Shouldn't be too hard. Motor upgrade, metal bushings, new gears, new spring guide, spring, do some hardcore re-shimmeying and check the trigger assembly to make sure it has that tiney screw that prevents the AK47 contacts from firing.

I'm not too hard on my gun, so I just want decent internals. The gun's so cheap that if I got the gearbox tuned just right I could buy another and switch out gearboxes then sell the extra parts for moneyz.
