Matrix G36 Battery Possibilities? PEQ box?

I'm kind of wanting to either figure out a 9.6v that will fit in that grip at a MAH of above 1200, or figure out how to wire a PEQ to the front successfully.

Hopefully the second option because that'd look sweet :D .

Any ideas?

PEQ box is doable but you'll probably have to drill out a hole to run the wires through.

That's kind of what I thought, but it'll be covered up by the PEQ so I guess that would work just fine, I was just wondering if there was a way to do ti without having to do that....and without severely pinching wires. 8)

Maybe get a handguard like this or this since these already have holes.

Thanks! But I already checked the idea of the second one, and those slits on the top of the fore grip are not large enough to string-through a standard mini Tamiya connector. My friend as an H&K G36c that he let me observe to know how much
I like the gun. Perhaps I'll get it just because it's enlarged, and then a PEQ is not needed! :D

You don't have to string it through. Put the wires in through the outside, connect to your mosfet internally, and you're set. :)

Just use a little micro screwdriver and pop the tamiya pins out of the case.

Wow, never realized that you could do that. Upon further inspection, there are two tiny metal flaps that hold in the tamiyas prods. Thanks mate! then I assume to re-assemble then it'd be as simple as shoving them through the other side remembering to note which wire goes with which shaped hole? Then they should like...snap into place??

exactly.

They are like little wings or tabs. You may need to pry them back open when you take them out, but they will snap into place when you get them back in. Use your battery as a reference for what goes where.

why not get some 7.4v lipos, they will fit in the standard G36 handgaurd, and will give a similar ROF as the 9.6v nimh

10.50 a pop, i bought 4 of them :) and they fit just fine.

Because switching to LiPo's means buying more stuff instead of using what you have, because LiPo's require a special charger, because they're more volatile, because because because...

LiPo's are great. I'm considering switching myself. There're just plenty of reasons one might not want to. :)

Don't really want to go LiPo YET, but does that really give the same ROF as a 9.6v?

7.4 will get you close to a 9.6v but not quite. But much better than a 8.4.

yes, a 7.4V lipo will have about the same performance as a 9.6NIMH/NICa, and a 11.1V performs about the same as a 14.4V like the one reeko linked(which is not suggested if you have a chinese gun).switching over to lipo is as easy as just buying a charger, or if you have a smart charger that says it can charge lipo batteries then you're pretty much already set. Lipo's have a more stable output, are not effect by cold weather, and for something that's half the price and a quarter the size of a NIMH; Lipo's have basically revolutionized the entire hobby industry ever since they came out.

also a 1200mAh 9.6V NIMH battery is usually what comes with a chinese gun, the more higher end 9.6V batteries like the one that comes with G&G guns is 1600mAh

so instead of wasting time drilling holes or wasting money buying a new hand guard, if you really want a PEQ box you could look into one that has lasers and flashlight instead of a plastic case that does nothing
