Is this battery ok with the KWA SR-12?

Postby Cyclops » Mon Jul 09, 2012 10:35 pm

Bought a 11.1V 3C 2300Mah for my SR-12... Is this going to be ok in my gun with the gears and all? New to hobby and I love to just jump into things full board.

It would wear down the internals faster than a 9.6v/7.4v LiPo.

I own one of these guns, the internals are extremely robust and should hold up to an 11.1 just fine. The battery will wear out the trigger contacts long before it starts to do any damage to the gearbox.

Hamster needs more Ritalin and less posting.

While I agree 100% with this statement, Hamster is still right. Although it may not cause a problem that this user will experience, every gun wears faster on an 11.1v LiPo than it does on a 7.4v LiPo or on a 9.6v NiCd/NiMh. That's just basic physics. :)

Except for china guns.

The faeries in them just get blended in the gears and are forced to inbreed faster, or they all just die off due to natural selection.

Otherwise, I JUST SAID THAT.

No need to repeat information.

Here's the thing: The guy asked for an opinion. Now, someone else contradicted your opinion. On an opinion- and experience-based thread, you'd think my agreeing with you would BE A GOOD THING.

Please, please get your 16 year-old pride and put it where you've been keeping your head lately. I'm supporting your opinion. No need to be a tool.

Meh, most people don't want others to run 11.1 lipos because they don't want to be shot at 20+ rps. Truth is your gun will be fine and a lot more people will call their hits.

4. DON'T REPEAT PREVIOUS STATEMENTS. If a non-opinion based question is asked and answered, do not simply reply to repeat that answer or statement.

TY for your replys. I have yet been to an event or even to a game. How ever I dont wanna show up with Big5 gun and play with the big boys. So last week I got a KWA SR-12, KWA M9, and a G&G 416. I just wanna make sure my stuff doesn't break down due to a battery issue. Cannt wait till this weekend for the St. Paul event. I have 2 other buddies tagging along.

Summer Slaughter is a fun event, especially for new guys, and all the guns you've got ought to be solid platforms. Welcome to AP. :)
