Outdoor Weapon under $200

Postby Goliath17 » Thu Jul 19, 2012 5:18 pm

If you knew me, you would know that my skills in looking for airsoft guns are not the greatest. I want to know if anyone knows of any good outdoor weapons for under $200. I would prefer it to be 400+ fps and accurate. Im considering getting the CYMA M14 or a Magpul Masada by A&K (I could get it for $190). Now, Im not asking you to go on google and look for me, Im just looking for reccomendations. Thanks.

id like to say you are the third person with the same exact question in the last two weeks. anyway staying on subject i would recomend three guns that i would personally choose.
1: http://www.airsplat.com/Items/ER-DF-M4-SS001.htm
full metal and probably the most reliable gun that amount of money can buy.

2: http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.p ... s_id=10378
I've heard good things about it, plus its a kwa.

3: http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.p ... ts_id=4342
good internals and great externals for the price. any of the dboys full metal ak's are good buys.

or if you want you can grab my high speed masada for 220 ;)

400+ FPS is for DMRs and bolts.
The M14 would be a DMR if you removed the full auto.
The Masada is not.

Don't get the A&K masada. It's build quality is not very good, and it can be a phony pony to work on and find parts for. Look at the G&G combat machines, or the new KWA CQR series. Both can be found new for under $200. The combat machines usually are in the 350-375fps range. FPS is not the be all end all of long range. Sure it helps, but having quality components and ammo to minimize your grouping is much more important. A 360fps gun with good parts and ammo can easily outshoot a 400fps chi-clone, having all that power doesn't mean shit if you cant put it on target. That's not to say some of the other suggestions so far aren't good ones, the lower end CYMA guns are definitely skirmishable but the reason you pay so little for them is the reduction in quality control and build quality. One of the major parts that those manufacturers skimp on to save cost is barrels and hopup design/composition which both play a MAJOR role in accuracy.

If I had a budget of $200 for a new outdoor gun, here's what I would get:

G&G GR16 Combat Machine M4 - $150

MadBull 6.03 363mm Tightbore - $40

MadBull Blue Hop-Up Bucking - $15

That brings you to $205, and should get you a gun that shoots in the 360ish FPS neighborhood with pretty good accuracy (you could also respring it to a higher velocity, but personally I usually shoot for no more than 385 to make sure it always chronos under 400 at events. No point in a gun you can't use). Pair that with .25, .28 or even .30 ammo and you should be shooting people at 175ft or more with no problem.

Toonvaster, none of those guns say they are in the 400-420 range.

Too bad the KWA sportlines only shoot 350fps too.

I'm sure there are a ton more choices for shit cheap 400fps guns.

yeah, I just picked up a KWA CQR and thats only for CQB for me. But I do have a G&G GR16, but the outer barrel sepporated and I have no idea how to fix it. If i figure it out, I will probably upgrade that.

Separated how? Is it obviously broken, or something that replacing a five cent set screw would fix?

The part of the outer barrel that extends out of the handguard. It disconnected from the O-ring thingy.

Yeah, if nothing is actually broken, you should be able to get it back together again with minimal cost and effort.

to clarify my name is toonvater.
im advising these guns because they are not gonna break, and there accuracy is going to out shoot any chinese clone. i didn't recommend him any guns in that range of fps because he wants to play, and most fields dont allow over 400. fps dosent constitute wither a gun is better or worse. for example my m4 shoots 320 and can out shoot any chinese gun. anyway my recommendations are in my experience a lot better then going with the rest of the crowd and getting a chinese gun that shoots 400+

This kid knows what he's talking about. Raw velocity isn't everything.
