Anti tarnish techniques

How dose one after a day crawling around in the mud prevent his AEG from rusting or tarnishing? I have had two AEGs and I split the uper from the lower as soon as I got home and they both tarnished.

It's street cred. Don't worry about it.
As long as you're not submerging it in water, you're fine. Also, don't carry your rifle with the barrel pointing up when it raining. I see kids doing this all the time.

Don't worry about it tarnishing. Just get it dirty and tarnished. It looks better. :P

I think guns (airsoft or otherwise) only get prettier with wear. As long as it's not endangering your rifle's integrity, I think it'll be just fine resale-wise. You can always scrub it clean and repaint it.
