Dytac AEGs...

Postby book42 » Tue Jan 15, 2013 12:57 pm

I spoke to a player at Camp R&R's Reindeer Revolt Sunday who was saying his new Dytac AEG was one of the best AEGs he owned.

http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/aeg/dytac/index.html

I love the looks and price point and was wondering if anyone else had any experience with this company and their guns.

Best regards,

To answer about the Dytac... I have one myself. I was also the first one in the PACNW (as far as I know) to test one.
The test I did consisted of two things:

1) Play a game. Went to R&R, where it performed flawlessly.

Unhappy with the lack of issues, I then...

2) Proceeded to actually try to break the gun. Using an 11.1 lipo, I went through 2 bags of .25 BBs, one high cap after another (using 3 mags), filling the mags then just laying on the trigger full auto non-stop until the mags were empty. The only pause I took was to reload the mags. The pistol grip got so hot, I had to not use the grip any longer and just hold my finger on the trigger. It may have actually melted the shape of the grip a little.

End result: That same gun is being used every weekend, and has been since that test. It's been used at games, at Thunder Alley shooting range, we've just literally beaten the crap out of that thing. It responds, "Is that all you got?"
It's probably had at least 70K BBs through it, and it's still tough as nails.

Insane. I will go out on a limb here and say this...

Dytac is better than KWA.

Also, it's super accurate, shoots great.... is great.
Available at Thunder Kiss NW.

Thank you for your response, Wisenheimer. Those are exactly the sort of things I've been hearing about Dytac, and it makes me wan'a ruin my credit, and run out and get one! :D

I got one more question for you. How is the trigger response on semi-auto?

Thanks again. You've been very helpful.

Best regards,

Thunderkiss folks were telling me they plan to publish a full review, they're very impressed with the quality. I'm excited to hear more.

Kevin was running one the other night; he had nothing but great things to say about it.
I do hope that after all this discreditable shuffling we may be taken into action. It has a wonderful way of reconciling a man with himself: and with everybody else, sometimes. - 1st Lt. James Dillon

I would describe the trigger response while using an 11.1 25 mah lipo battery as snappy. Snappy as all get out.

I was the guy you talked to at reindeer revolt. I was so impressed with my Dytac, that night after playing at R&R, I took my son to Thunderkiss and bought him one as well. They have both performed(mechanically) flawlessly. The only issue I have had is that on both of our guns, the reciever pins have a tendency to come loose, and have both fallen out. Kevin at Thunderkiss has treated us very well and as soon as I can back up to the Couve, is very anxious to remedy the situation. In fact he heard a rumor after one of the recent events that I was unhappy with my Dytacs (not true), so on the following Monday, right when the store opened,he texted me, wanting to know why I was unhappy, and how could he remedy the issue. That's pretty damn good service! Dytacs are a high quality aeg, and they performed beyond my expectations. Thunderkiss has also treated me well, and I will continue to do buisness with them and a handfull of other locals in the airsoft community. To those considering buying a Dytac... Please don't as I'm rather enjoying the advantage of smokin' fools that don't own one( or two )!!!

Nobody said you were unhappy. I said your receiver pins were falling out and they should look into the issue with the manufacturer to remedy this since its been happening to several owners guns other than youselves

Shortbus,
We have locking receiver pins coming. So once they show up, we will replace it for ya so there is no more issues with that.
Also talked with the manufacturer, they are eager to find reason why this is happening.
We have the best pricing in the NW for airsoft gear.
And now we offer the best indoor experience for our great community.

The thing is, I've done these tests on brands that everyone agrees are terrible. Individual guns can meet these levels, even if the brand overall has a poor reputation. This test alone doesn't prove that the manufacturer is quality. You can do the same thing with various Echo1 or Ares guns, which people normally don't love, but the guns will do it no problem.

.

Looks like it was done to more than one gun around here. And over seas. What is your limit then? 10 guns, 100 guns, 1000 guns? I think it's like any brand, i've had KWA's that were crap, i've had JG's that were great, and visa versa.

I think you can pick one gun out of any manufacturer and find a problem with it. And seems to me that Echo1's rep has changed allot in the last year with better quality coming out of the warehouse.

This is true. I've seen video of a plastic gearbox P90 hooked up to a car battery, and that went on for like 5 minutes or more.

But my opinion is not based solely on that test. The opinion is based on the rest of the usage it's gotten since that day long ago. It's a champ. You can pick apart my words however you wish, proof is in the pudding, and that's some thick, rich, delicious Dytac pudding right there. Go buy one and do whatever tests you wish. Taste the deliciousness.
