Bolt issues

Postby Sneakerwave » Fri Mar 19, 2010 12:35 am

So i used my bolt action for a long day last weekend. and then i went to shoot it again a day later and the bolt is acting weird. i pull it back, and it kinda gets stuck where it is and i try to push it forward and it is difficult then it just flys forward. like it uses the spring and shoots it forward. i took the gun apart and everything looked fine to me. so i put it back together. it shot fine for about 8 shots then did the same thing again. any ideas/suggestions?

What type of bolt is it? How long have you used it?

My vsr-10 started doing the same thing, and I found that the screws holding the trigger mechanims in, had unscrewed themselves just enough. Check those.

It started slam firing like you described at a game, I took it home, took it completely apart, and noticed the 2 screws holding the trigger stuff on were loose. TIghtened them up, and it was fine.

if tightening the screws doesnt work, then you have blown your sears, and need replacements.
I am not half as good as I want to be, but I am twice as good as you think I am.

Or the back end of the piston (that grabs the sears).

My VSR started doing that, never did figure out what was wrong with it. So it went to the trash.

You trashed a whole VSR?! Tm or JG?

On another note, mine was doing the same. I had the airsoftgi sear set in it. Turns out the 2nd sear had worn down and wasn't holding the bolt back. I replaced it with a PDI and it is working fine now.
