Snipers

Postby SemperFi4life » Mon Jan 09, 2012 9:57 pm

Just starting out, and really like the idea of being a sniper.. Can people tell me what they think about being one, and if it is worth it? Thanks!

Go sit next to a tree all day shooting a maximum of ten shots.

Then, dump 500-600 minus the cost of your rifle on upgrades.

Then do nothing all day.

Thats my idea, where's KA-BAR? Or Look through threads.

If you've got the money to do it, I say go for it. But expect to lay down a good chunk of money on a solid rifle.

Because precision instruments require a lot of tuning.

Not saying you absolutely have to go for the top-of-the-line, but if you want the best possible rifle, you need the highest quality parts. Otherwise you'll constantly be battling little issues.

I've heard good things about the G&G M14.

Before you get a sniper rifle and become a sniper, I'd say try being a regular rifleman first. A sniper is a VERY specialized class. If you find out you don't like/ aren't cut out to be a sniper, you'll get upset that you just spent a whole ton of money on something you can't use again.

Cheers
If $400,000 a year is low-class, I'm totally f***ed.

Because, being a sniper is a complete waste unless your gun can shoot better than any AEG on the field, and that's expensive.

it takes time and dedication to run a good bolt and be a good sniper
if you even need to consider being a sniper you are not the one
your attention span is too short

Yeah, snipers.

Most of them are idiots.

But go try it out man! Just start going to events with a bolt or a borrowed bolt, see if you like it.

What more is there.

I love sniping. But as stated in the first reply, before you buy any weapon platform go and sit by a tree all day. Snipers move very slowly and spend hours just laying there watching a piece of terrain. I then suggest you go find some swamp and crawl around in it all day at a very slow pace (look up the sniper low crawl/jaguar crawl) all you do is slowly move yourself an inch at a time with your fingertips dragging your gun behind you. Then you pause, look around then repeat. If you get through the day in the swamp and still think you wanna snipe then go ahead buy the base platform and slowly start upgrading things. One thing i suggest i'f you're going to snipe is to tie your own ghillie suit from burlap. Then spend hours working on your fieldcraft. While it is true that you won't actually die in airsoft it's still nice to have that feeling when you hit somebody and they are looking around like "where the hell did that come from?" You then proceed to not shoot the next 10 people to walk by and then move (slowly to another spot) and maybe you'll have a chance to get another kill.

good ghillie suit noob tutorial. http://www.youtube.com/user/ghillieexpe ... re=g-all-s
