Cheap Boots? The solution!

Postby FunkyDoucheMan » Sat Sep 11, 2010 3:41 pm

So I did some investigating on e-bay and found these boots. They were $36 shipped for a brand new pair. Here is the link; http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... MR:US:1123. They come in all sizes (3-14) and come in narrow and wide. Any discoloration you see in the pics is from the lighting.

Toes look kinda funny. So 2 questions:

1. How durable are they?

2. Are they waterproof?

The military started issuing off brand boots some time ago, I have 2 pair that were issue. They are pretty much identicl to those in the pics, and they work just fine. As for your second question Merchant, they are not waterproof, they are desert boots.

Yup, these are military issued boots. And are VERY breathable, but durable as well. They have a padded breathable sole on the inside you can remove and wash. As well as plastic protecion on the back heel and toes.

If your walking through a swamp, water proof boots aren't going to do any good when the water is above em.

Those boots are great , i own 4 pairs of that type , 2 are WELLCO and 2 are ROTHCO , you can waterproof them yourself and they'll be good , or don't waterproof them and you'll be ok as well.

I use a product called Nikwax Nubuck & Suede Spay-On Footwear Treatment , it works really good on all my boots.

Those are good boots. I got those issued to me by my school.
They work good for Missouri, but I would imagine not so well for Oregon.
