How to take care of plate carrier?

Postby shakespeare » Sun Oct 03, 2010 8:58 pm

I just ordered a Pantac Land CIRAS and I realized I have no idea how to fight wearing one or how to take care of it so it lasts a while.
How does one's fighting style change while wearing a plate carrier?
And what do I do to make sure it lasts?

Kit looks better dirty.

I've never handled Pantac gear, but if it's of any quality it shouldn't need to be babied.

Its not the material that matters as much as the stitching quality..but you shouldnt need to baby it especially as it will be seeing (relatively) limited use without armor...

Uh... don't leave it out in the rain? I really can't think of a way that you can shazaam quality kit up if you take even the most basic or precautions with it. Seriously. Dirt? Meh. Mud? Meh. Maybe wipe it off if it's really bad.

Use a brush to scrap off dirt, and soap and mild dish soap to clean it if you want to remove dirt/paint stains.

Take it to a dinner and buy it a few glasses of wine. Take of it and it'll take care of you.

If it gets particularly wet you may do well to dry it out by a fireplace or hang it up to dry so that it doesn't get moldy, but it's not something to be too worried about.

As far as play style goes, I felt pretty encumbered by my old PC that had a cummerbund and closed fully on each side, but my weesatch feels about as light as web gear and is much nicer to play in, hot or cold weather.
