The FSBE II system is designed to meet the many mission specific profiles of the USMC Force Recon companies, FAST, and MEU (SOC) Assault Teams.
And yes they use the CIRAS Body Armor.

People in the military hardly care about something's propper name... Hence CIRAS is FSBE, Marpat is just called digi and a Kabar is a sharp stabby thing.

Yes , it's like when i talk to WWII German veterans and i ask them which type of camo they wore , the Splinter A or Marsh Pattern and they always have the same answer , early on we had the square one and late in the war the round one.
Collectors and military nuts always refer to stuff by the commercial or collector name and the vets just call it whatever.

On a similar note, I have virtually never heard American vets call it a "Garand", to them it's the M1, along with the .45, Thompson, Carbine, BAR, .30 cal and bazooka (that covers most American company level weapons, anyway).

I do find it to be somewhat amusing that most of those who trusted their lives to different kinds of gear care less about the small details than gearwhores who have never had to put their lives in the gear's care.
Not saying that this is always the case, and I am the gearwhore type, it's just amusing to me.

A lot of people in the National Guard wear Condor.

People who do it don't really care about the brand, or the color. Just as long as it's durable and holds bullets.

Well, the airforce cares. They're so pretty.

Now where are the pictures of this 4 page loadout thread? SHOW MEEEEE

You're not a gearwhore until you accumulate large amounts of real gear. Like, $350+. And more than one item. Sadly, I am $100 off...

I have to say, I love the MICH. I think my helmet was just a dud. Its one of those cheap plastic ones, I bought it in an order with my friend who got the same thing, but his has a weighted feel and can actually use covers. Thanks for the info on the stitch thing, i went to a craft store before, but the people working there wouldn't make up their minds on what i should use. I also cant justify spending the money on the real vest and helmet, my budget is basically 300 dollars until december.
