O.o

New mask, if you get the same brand glass, the same thing might happen, or worse. Better to be safe than sorry.

AONW sells a mesh one for $15. The rubber gets a bit sticky when your face sweats, but it's cheap and doesn't fog.

I would strongly recommend you NOT to get these mesh face masks. I have personally seen two separate masks get shot through from a cqb distance.
Get ansi rated construction work glasses and be happy.

Wow, thanks for the heads up. I'll reserve those for field use only, then.

Honestly I wouldn't suggest mesh for any type of game.

Need a new face mask as well...

Postby Regular Guy » Fri Sep 03, 2010 1:34 pm

I wanted to create another thread about what mask to get but this thread is related to what I want anyway...

I was looking at Save Phace, DYI, and Sly masks and all seems to be durable. Has anybody used these or own one of these masks? I'm looking for a low profile mask suitable for CQB and field skirmish.

Thanks!

For a mask, mesh is fine. It's not like a broken piece of bb is going to have enough energy to break a tooth. Most players don't wear a face mask (and those that do almost always look like noobs, to me), so you might consider other options for mouth protection. For eyes, well, that's up for debate, but mesh messes with my vision so I prefer shooting glasses.

Goggles for me is a must. Eye operation or spending $$$ on expensive set of ballistic goggles? Makes more sense to have a ballistic goggles. As far as jaw, mouth and neck protection I might have to use something like a shemagh and wrap it all over my head.

Comments?

I've been using a $7 pair of ANZI rated shooting glasses for almost 5 years.

Yea, theres nothing wrong with the cheap shooting glasses you can pick up at any sporting goods/gun store. They will be ANZI rated and come in more colors and tints than you can shake a chinaman at.
