Pantac Spec Ops Plate Carrier...

Postby book42 » Sat Aug 28, 2010 5:55 pm

Just curious, does anyone have experience with these: http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.p ... ts_id=6919?

I like the High Speed Low Drag look (ever since I became a whore for everything G.M.R.) However, I do own a "Condor Spec Ops Plate Carrier"... love the look, but the side straps have a bunji-like, stretchy material, which negates any attempt on my part to cinch the vest tight.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

I know very little about this, however I've got 2 drop thigh holsters are made by Pantac, they are made pretty well, and have taken quite the beating over the last 2 years. I'd also suggest looking at the Tactical Tailor Modular Plate Carrier. they make a nice product... and you can sometimes find them on E-bay for going around $65 to $75... Just a thought.

A multicam vest is fine if all you are ever going to use is multicam bdu's. I prefer a solid color vest (od, rg, cb, Khaki) that I can wear with any bdu's.

I have this in CB, breathes very well, is lightweight, and can be adjusted easily. Worth the money, if you ask me.

A agree with Catch 22... Get solid color gear over camouflage uniform so the gear matches any color BDU's. And if I'm correct Book runs Woodland.

+1

I have a cb/tan rig that works with all my cammies (mc would look funny with my alpenflauge)

I'd get tan or green based gear (either OD or the more gucci greens like smoke green or ranger green.

The help and comments have been much appreciated.

Seems there might be a purchase in my future. :D

Rentax you are right, my friend, I run woodland... or OD. As far as tactical fashion is concerned (and I am not one to shy away from being referred to as a "gear whore), I agree with Catch 22 and Jewish Ninja - solid colors are best for tac.

Limpy, so there's no elastic material in the side straps of the vest?

Thanks again.

There are elastic bands that cover the straps, but I would advise you to adjust the top straps so it rests lower on your body and stays firm. Don't forget to put in fake plates to keep it from moving around when you move a lot!

If I see you on the field (whenever that may be) and you don't have this yet I would gladly let you try it on.

You guys are great. Limpy, the offer to check out the vest is very much appreciated. From what you and Mr._Kong describe, it sounds like the Pantac vest does not suffer the same feature as the Condor. By the way, I have toy plates on the way!

Hopefully, I'll see all of you on the field.
