Multitools and Toolkits.

Most of you guys have probably seen these before, but I saw these earlier today and thought they were the coolest looking things! Check 'em out and be sure to watch the videos!

(Some of them on the second link are just standard Leathermans, nothing too impressive.)

I've recently been bringing a baggy with misc. Torx screws, and Phillips head screwdrivers to games. As well as zip ties and other assorted things necessary for AEG work. Accompanied with that is my Leatherman Wave, which seems to get the job done for what I need it too.

What multitools and/or toolkits do you guys use on the field?

We got issued one of the MUT EOD ones (not the 300), and it feels a bit flimsy. The bit driver is nice, but it doesn't come with a pouch for the bits which ruins the purpose. The Gerber version is a little stronger and better designed, but the SOG one has been my favorite so far for ease of use.

Got links to those Gerber & SOG multitools? I'm thinking of replacing the Gerber Flick one I lost recently.

Don't think you need a C4 punch or cap crimpers. Look for tools that you will use, not just what others say. The brands and base models will have the durability.

We managed to get through 37 cuts or so on 3/16" bar stock with the wire cutters before we got a SOG to fail.

And SOG replaced the tool under warranty, even after we had told them what we had done to it.

SOGs are amazing tools.

Just to put it out there that if you ever need your Leatherman serviced for what ever reason, you can take it to their store at Cascade station. Regardless of what their web page says about their warranty the staff at the store are pretty lenient about the tools condition. They'll give you a brand new one if they still make that model or (I took my Juice cs4 in on a warranty and they let me trade it for a skeletool) an equivalent if they don't. They usually only service tools If it has "sentimental value." They treat the 25 year warranty as a lifetime warranty since there in no way to prove when you bought it. And on a side note you can go one the Leahterman website and sign up for a factory tour.
