AUG/M4 Hybrid Design

Postby prowl375 » Sat Apr 14, 2012 8:38 am

It looks kind of like the AUG A3, but there's only so much I can do on that site.

Seems to me that prowl375 is a pretty cool dude who doesn't afraid of anything.

Isn't afraid. ;)

Also, looks like more of an M14 RIS stuck on an AUG. What's the purpose? What's the benefit? "Teh c00lz"?

That's a CASV handguard. Also, AR-15 upper in a place it never would fit.
I ask this question: Why?

Hart - that's a saying, doesn't afraid is correct for that.

Hampster - To shoot two bullets down the same gun of course, by combining the AUG lower which chambers and fires the bullet from the rear with the AR15 upper, which chambers and fires the bullet from the front, you have two supersonic projectiles that will impact the same target within milliseconds of eachother. It's still in the prototype phase, and testing has been postponed as the weapon doesn't do anything but fail catastrophically.

The AUG A3 basically looks like that already. Throwing a rail from an M4 doesn't make it a hybrid. If that's the case, the SEAL that stuck a M4 rail on an MP5SD A5 made a MP5/M4 hybrid :P

So he took a bullpup design, and kept the same stock and made it standard layout. The round now has about 8 inches to travel from the magazine to the chamber. You now have at least 16 inches of empty space...And you've moved 90% of the weight that far out on to the forward hand. You would have to counterbalance it in the stock just to be comfortable, which means adding useless weight to the stock. And the charging handle can't move.

I only designed this to look cool. No realism was intended. It would be impossible to combine these two unless the M4 reciever was a dummy and had no function.

Indeed.

Gone with the rain, in with the bawls degree weather.

I can't wait for parts of my adolescence to be wasted doing useless things all summer.

At least it doesn't have that terrible AUG vert grip.
