I want to thank all those who rated my costume highly. I had fun competing against all of you who entered some really fantastic costumes. The competition was stiff and I feel flattered and humbled to have taken second place. As for the effort question. I do not assume in any matter that I put forth any more effort than anyone else. I will say that I have been planning my submission since last years contest. I thought hard to think of a good and original idea while following the spirit of the contest. Once I chose my costume I watched the movie over and over and spent hours on the internet researching the clothes and weapons. Besides google I frequented imfdb.org; a database for weapons in film. I spent the greater part of the year trying to track down an out of production and hard to find/afford SGS compensator for my Beretta m92 so that I would have an accurate weapon. Alas I had to settle a little as well as modify and paint some parts to achieve the effect. In addition I had to ask my SON not my daughter, my son to put on a wig and play Matilda to help me out. I am lucky that he was a good sport and got why it would be cool. I am glad that he had fun doing it and he feels a real sense of achievement from our placing in this contest. I want to assure any doubters that an incredible amount of effort WAS put forth by myself, my son and my wife who took the photo. I hope that I may be able to do just as good of a job next year which I have already started the planning process. Thanks again to the public and the judges who rated my costume so favorably. Woot!
edit: by the way I used 2 cheap springers for the photo.......Harry
