Callsign: DocMercy

Postby DocMercy » Tue Jul 17, 2012 4:25 pm

(Callsign changed to DocMercy, due to my medical abilities during airsoft matches)

Hey guys!

I'm just getting into the sport, but I intend on playing it more during my college years. I thought for a long time, and decided on the name Pearl because of my house's location. I live about two miles above Pearl-Harbor, the starting place of WWII for America.

Due to the amount of money I have, I intend on purchasing the Umarex/VFC M27 IAR when it comes out sometime this year. As I will most likely be attending Portland University for college, I will most likely join a Portland based airsoft team.

If you're a team looking for a light-support gunner, and you are still intending on participating in airsoft for the next few years, contact me with information about your team.

(I also go by the callsign 'Huey')

Cheers,
Pearl

Welcome to AP

Interested to see what you think of the Umarex. Got a chance to meet them at SHOTShow in Vegas - they got some interesting products coming out.

WWII actually started somewhere on the border of Poland and Germany in September 1939.

Welcome to AP.

The starting period of where America started getting involved though, or something like that.

That wasn't clearly stated, though.

Welcome to AP Doc.

Regardless, history lessons unnecessary.

Doc, welcome to AP. Read the stickies, search before you ask, use correct spelling and grammar, and use common sense. Do those things, and you'll be fine.

You mean Northern America as in Canada?

And it really really started with something in Austria and a little place called the Sudetenland.

I mean the United States. I'd call throwing munitions and supplies at Britain hand over fist getting involved, which they started doing in 1939, leading up to the official Lend Lease Acts in 1941 to '45.

And I count the beginning as the first combat action resulting in the involvement of the Allied powers, that being the invasion of Poland. If you want to call the Sudetenland crisis the start of WWII, then that means the war started in '38.

Wow, you get that all off of Wikipedia? America didn't officially declare war until after Pearl Harbor went down. The US helped England in the war for the Malvinas, but that didn't make them "in the war." I believe the OP meant Pearl Harbor as the official kick off for officially going to war. (Oh, he actually stated that.) Please don't feel obligated to correct everyone.

On topic, welcome to AP and feel free to look up SOTA at sotaairsoft.com.

Welshy McSheeplove wrote:And he edited it to include "for America". The original post read ""I live about two miles above Pearl-Harbor, the starting place of WWII." So no, he actually didn't state what you're claiming he did. But hell, please don't feel obligated to read.

You know what he implied, you just can't help nit-picking everything. lol
