Too close to shoot

Postby ducksrb24 » Sun Apr 17, 2011 2:16 pm

when you are really close to someone, do you tell them "surrender", "take your hit", or is that the "safety kill" thing?

SAFETY KILLS
When you are too close in range to be comfortable taking a shot, you can call out "SAFETY KILL" on the player in your sights. Any clean shots with no cover under 30 feet are good candidates for safety kills. Do not call it unless the kill is already a given. Always honor safety kills when they are called on you just like honoring a "HIT". Safety kills can only be called on one individual at a time, not on entire groups. "SAFETY KILL" must be said loudly, as to simulate actually firing. Silence can only be maintained if you can tag the other player out. You must be able to point your replica and call "SAFETY KILL" on every person if there is more than one.

SNIPER SAFETY
Anyone acting as a sniper with an upgraded bolt action rifle over 400 fps (1.5j) should carry a sidearm that can be used alternately when engaging targets closer than about 60 feet. If you have no sidearm and find yourself too close to the opposing force, you may either a) call a safety kill, b) wait until they move to a safe range or c) relocate to a safe range. Do not fire at targets closer than 60 feet.

next time look in the forums section. There is a whole section dedicated to safety and rules. Thats where i copied and pasted this from...

When you are close to someone, safety kill them before they safety kill you.

Don't ever shoot someone when you should safety kill them.

I have had too much drama with people not honoring safety kills. I'll just plant a semi auto shot or two into the plate carrier instead.

Quoted for truth.

Safety kills are weird. It's just a bb. If they have eye pro on and you don't aim for the face like a douche then you're fine.

If you are indoors or in a structure/trench in the field call safety kill... you know for those within 10-15 foot range engagements.

Say, "You're dead, you're dead!" If they don't accept the surrender after the second "you're dead," shoot them.

One game I surrendered a douche who was prone, facing away from me, about ten feet away. The idiot looked back at me, jumped up, and started bringing his AEG around to engage me. So I shot him six times. With my 360 FPS KWA USP. The tard called his hit(s) then.

PS, it would be super gay to say "Take your hit!"

AEG or pistol, I'll shoot. To many people don't understand the safety kill rules/think it doesn't apply to them.

Bolt: If I'm on the edge of the minimum engagement, I'll shoot for a hard surface (kneepads, vest,...). If I can get up close and personal, I'll touch the barrel of my gun to them, and say "call it or I'll shoot". Generally, people will call that one.

Lol. I would.

Tactical buttsecks FTW! One of my favorite moves for those up-close and personal encounters. Use it all the time.

As long as you don't hose them in full auto and you just hit them center off mass, you should be okay. If your withing 15 feet, i usually jsut try getting closer for a knife/ hostage kill.

Hostages rule =), they are usuall impractical but are great to brag about.

I often have a problem with kids trying to call a safety kill from 30+ feet and straight in front of me. The only time I really use safety kills are in cqb out of knowing it sucks to get lit up point blank, even with 330 fps, less the person has a tendency to not honor safety kills... then they must bare with the consequences of their actions. In out doors, I rarely try to get a safety kill less I am right on top of them, but then I will try to touch them with my muzzle. If you do try to get a safety kill, make sure to yell it loud and multiple times with your gun pointing at them to make sure they can hear you so they have no excuse to not call it.
My father once told me, "Some times all you have is a bullet and a prayer, don't miss."
