I am required to do it for work at least once a day. Like most things on the webernets it quickly became a mess of ads and porn spam but there is some value to it. Its linked to our homepage so special deals and back in stock items are easily and quickly showcased. I even found several items I'd like to buy at airsoftgi.com by their posts (sorry, cannot bring myself to speaking/ typing in their idiotic banter) that caught my eye. Anything that helps direct traffic to your website is a good thing for sales and organic search engine placement.

So yes, I think it is a valuable marketing tool. However, I have also seen the personal use drivel from people who apparently think their life is more interesting than it is. Honestly, even if you're my best friend I don't care what you just ate for lunch...
