What Amp should my Lipo Battery be charged at?

Postby dom186 » Mon Jan 04, 2010 7:20 pm

I have a King Arms 11.1v 12c 1600mah (3 celled for the mentally challenged) for my gun and just recently got a Tenergy TB6 Universal Battery Charger for it and whomever might need it at an airsoft game since it can run on car batteries, and last few games I attended there wasn't anybody that had a charger or an extra battery. I was wondering at what amperage should I charge my battery and also does 1c = 1amp? I've quickly skimmed google to try to find an answer, and most of the websites I read said to charge it at 1c, no matter what.

1c is the correct charge rate. But 1c does not = 1amp.
C rating = your battery's mAh/1000
so in this case it is 1600 divided by 1000 = 1.6
so 1.6 amps is the correct charge rate.

because 1c = mAh/1000, 1c is different on different batteries.
for example i charge my 2200 mAh batteries at 2.2 amps.

you can always charge your battery at less than 1c, but generally don't go above 1c.
