Redacted.

The call in question was not what it initially appeared to be. The matter is settled.

Since when do employers care what someone does on a non-affiliated website?

This is Susan Myrick. Facts about Chris Myrick- He is an alcoholic and is now going to AA. His grandfather and his uncle were alcoholics. Alcoholism is a disease. I would put a link to info on alcoholism but I am going to assume that none of you would care enough to do the research. He has been sober for 12 days. He has moved from Portland as of this morning. The most important thing right now is his sobriety and him maintaining it. When he reaches the stage of his recovery where he will make amends to those he has screwed over, he will do so- monetarily and apology. I am sure that he will also do so in order of who he feels is most deserving. So some of you will be way down the list. The phone number that was posted is not in Chris's name. Any harrassment done to that number will be reported to the Portland Police Dept. The phones on our family plan are in my daughter's name. So don't shazaam around with it by calling or texting threats, etc. She will act upon any of them. Messing with him now is not advisable. Just saying.
So now I am going to respond in advance to the comments I know you all will make or will want to.
1-Oh! His mommy is sticking up for him.- I do not condone anything that he has done that has resulted in property or money being taken or left owing to anyone. I am not making excuses for any of his behavior. I am very proud that he has acknowledged that he has a serious problem with alcohol and is now working to change that. Again, that is the only thing that matters- his sobriety.
2-We are going to get a group together and go to his house and tattle to his parents about all the shit he has done. - Do not bother. I will not invite you girls in for milk and cookies or whatever the hell you wanted to be invited in for the other day. No one is more aware of what he has done than we are. As part of his recovery, he isn't holding anything back or in. What you all are spewing here is only the tip. So save the gas and stay away. You will not be listened to because it is old news. And nothing is going to be done about any of this from our end. Chris will get to you in due time. He has already talked a lot about it.
3- Chris is a piece of shit and should jump off a cliff,, my neighbor is in the FBI, I am calling the police because he stole ______, etc. - Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. But some of you need to mind your own bleeding business. If it wasn't your property or money then butt out. The FBI doesn't give a shit about you, okay? My brother-in-law is in the FBI. Big whoop! If you are stupid, naive, trusting enough to give someone something without getting the money first, then I don't know what to tell you. You all seem to have known about his misconduct for quite some time. So why would you do that? I did talk with a police officer and you can't consider it stolen. He did reneg on the deal, but live and learn. Nothing was in writing. And you will get your money back. When he has a job, he is paying every one back as he is able. Believe it or not. I don't care.
So those are the facts. I am not apologizing or making any amends. That will be done by Chris. Please respect his wishes to stay sober and get his life together. You don't have to like him to do that. Once again- don't call the number posted, come by my house, text that number or in any way contact him. No matter what he has done, he is my son and I love him. So I will do whatever it takes to make sure that he is successful in staying sober. And before you all start typing your negative and ignorant comments, stop and think about how bleeding perfect none of you are.

I would have to say that this has been my sentiment since the day folks started posting about this. I agree 100%, if not even more. People seem to get a real kick out of beating their chests and trying to be the hero, when they aren't even involved in the situation nor do they know any of the people involved personally. This is why some threads regarding Chris have been removed or locked.

You guys wanna be heroes? Go to Haiti.

in my oppinion, that isnt something a mom says... and i would think that no, his sobriety isnt 1st on the list i would say returning or fully reumbursing the people who got things stolen would be 1st just like airsoft750 said

Shut up airsoft750. This isn't your fight, and you obviously haven't ever been related to an alcoholic.

I second the motion to lock.

To all of you who are contemplating some not so well thought out actions.......drop it. What you are contemplating doing could possibly get you arrested. Small claims is going to be the only way to get some resoloution on this matter. This is a civil matter. If you are not involved , dont get any on you! Speaking as a retired cop....we hated this kind of stuff.
