I could write an essay on the GBBR / Systema issue, and a 2nd essay on why licensing is actually good for the consumer, but most people wouldn't read it and some would disagree just because all they can see is the $20 difference in price.

To be honest, don't care much about pricing, I care about quality, I know madbull have good quality, but none all of us can afford the same as others, lets be realistic about it.

What?! A licensed manufacturer protecting their legal rights? Oh the horror!

No, we will see the same quality or less, accompanied by an increase in price.

But say what you want now, if this works (it won't) in two years don't phony pony about the horrible price on the potmetal Gemtech QD suppressor you bought for $120 that wobbles like crazy.

At least we will never see this problem in any of the important replicas. That is, soviet airsoft replicas. Copyrighting isn't exactly a communist idea, if you know what I mean :)

Also, I'd like to read that essay on why licensing is better than a free market.

The problem is that some of the license holders don't have the highest quality products, and they force quality products out of the market. You would think that being associated with a firearms manufacturer would make them better, but I've seen AEGs decline in the last several years. Many Tokyo Marui AEGs lasted 5-6 years. Now you are lucky if an AEG lasts 2 years - IF that. Beyond the "warranty" who cares. They have no obligation to you at that point, if it breaks on day 91 of your 90 day warranty... too bad. Who gives a shit anyway? Only 14-15 year olds play Airsoft anyway and they break stuff all the time. Why should an AEG have a lifespan of more than a year? shazaam it, mom will buy another one. You limit your earning potential if your product lasts too long, there's no return customers.

The reason why we want to buy the knockoff AEGs from china is simple - the licensed trademark guns are ALSO made in China. Why pay a premium for them when you can get the cheapest one? It's the same crap.

9 years ago when I started playing the game, NOTHING was licensed. And 90% of the products had to be ordered overseas. Sometimes I wish it was still that way. Despite the hassle, it just seemed like more craftsmanship went into the AEGs back then. "They don't make em like they used to!"

I'll shut up now and stop being an old man.

Get with the times old man!

Anyway in my feeble 2 years of playing I have seen the quality of inexpensive guns increase ( depending on the brand of course) WHen I started play the best inexpensive gun you can get is either a echo 1, JG, or a used gun in the calssified. Now you can get a somewhat decetn CA, an excellent G&G for lower prices than the Echo 1s. Hell Echo 1 is increases their prices on their weapons now. But oh well I bet in another two years you can get a mini-gun for only 200 and we'll finally get skrimable Springfields and Mosin Nagants

I remember when I started playing. Echo 1 was the new kid on the block. We all laughed at their low costs ans quality control. Some of us are still laughing.

Anyway. I'm glad Mad Bull is doing this. Maybe they can get those bastards down at Glock to get their heads out of their asses and start allowing replicas of their products again. Hopefully they will reprsent our hobby and it's industry in a positive manor to the "Big Dogs."

I support the copyright owner's right to decide how their intellectual property is used.

If a company pays the costs associated with developing a quality product, they should be able to recoup their investment. They should also be able to profit from it. Successful companies are able to continue producing innovative products.

Knockoff companies steal intellectual property and contribute little toward advancing whatever industry they are ripping off. And on top of this, they also tend to use cheaper materials.

Go Madbull!

I think another positive thing that may come of this is that apparently MB just got 20+ new licenses (I think), so they may start making more new shiz.

when i first started low end bolt action rifles sucked balls, yet i still bought them and MADE them work....now alot of cheap a$$ sniper rifles are very well built and can be made into name takers.

you can thank me some other time.
I am not half as good as I want to be, but I am twice as good as you think I am.

I missed something. Like: did you really just take credit for making shitty knock-off bolt guns suck less?

No, he's saying the products got better over the years. I'll give him that, the bolt platforms did get better. (because every little booger eater wants to be a sniper).
