Correct they do not turn off when charged which can cook your battery. If its all you have for now, just do the math on it and watch how many hours its been on. Make sure its not a 9.6 charger on a 8.4 battery or it will fry it. Ive done it after I sold my smarts. The the price of smart chargers has come down so much it won't be worth the hassle.
