Millersburg; Camp Rilea

Postby B.O.P. Hawk » Sun Sep 11, 2011 5:18 pm

I found out about this place called Millersburg in northern OR and I got all exited. I saw that a few people speak very highly of Camp Rilea in our community, and that a few OPs have been hosted there in the past. I have a few questions.

What are your feelings or impressions about the place? How does it work out for our sport?

Are you able to go outside of the little city? If so, what is the terrain like in the vicinity?

When is the next OP that is there? If there is not one scheduled, get it on the calender! I have been itching for some city CQC.

Thanks.

Phantom Fury is going to have a big op at Camp Rilea's M.O.U.T. facility May of next year. It's the climax of a five part series.

I have been to Camp Rilea for JROTC only. Although I walked through the city CQB area, I have not played there. It looks amazing. The soonest event that I know of being hosted there is Op: Sudown Part 5 in May 2012. Hope I am some help to your questions. :)

Its great, then you get pinned down behind a building, and get the bright idea to huck yourself (with the help of a buddy of course)through a window to get inside the building. Remember kids, concrete is not your friend, and your helmet will break your fall. ;-)

I have used the MOUT site there for training. It is definitely set up to make you think and plan before you assault a building. Make sure you stay out of the building that they use as a CS chamber though. Unless you like that kind of stuff.

The M.O.U.T site is pretty cool to fight in , if you control the 2 story "Court House" and the "Church" across from it you control the town , i have managed to hold off an armored unit with my rifle grenades for about an hour from the roof top of the Court House.

The City is surrounded by woods , but there is a pretty large kill zone all around the city , you will loose a lot of troops crossing the kill zone to get into the town.

It is a small village and probably takes about 80 people to properly assault it without massive casualties.

The MOUT site is on a small base and because of that, you can't really "play" outside of the MOUT site itself. You'd run into roads, campers, soldiers and other lanes for training.

i've shot blanks a lot out there. the town wasn't used a lot unless their was like 30 of us. Otherwise we always pushed out into the surrounding woods.
