Nice. How long did it take you to get it all together?

While most of these are nice, I'm just not into it this year as it's mainly folks who have nothing to do with airsoft, let alone airsoft in the PNW. I am aware that this is not a "locals only" contest. I don't see the value in sending several thousand dollars worth of airsoft gear to people who will only use it at comicon. Your mileage may vary, and I am speaking for myself only.

NEEDS MOAR COSTUMES! Local or international. I don't care. I just want to see more.

I agree as well. IMO the bar is set so high by the Cosplay people most locals just don't have the time or skill to compete. I know I don't. Maybe we should do a contest just for fun for the locals.

In all competitions, somebody is going to over the top to compete. That's why it's a contest. Whether local or international. There's cosplay people in Oregon too. Even if it were local, somebody would still have an exceptionally awesome costume. But in the end, it really comes down to how highly the AP community rates your costume - because if you don't make it into that finalist top 15 you aren't a finalist and you can't win the big prize.

A well-executed and creative idea for a costume might get as much respect or high ratings as a well done popular cosplay. You can't give up before you've even tried. That's like going to an OP and deciding that you don't want to load BBs because the other team will probably just win anyway.

But if you guys wanna give up, that's cool. I'm sure the current contestants wouldn't mind having better odds at winning :D

I don't really like the premise that if you "Cosplay" that you must not be interested in airsoft.

So to rule out that theory here is a pic of me at the last pickup game I went to at Camp Pendleton.

Image

@quigly: It took about five months off and on. I had a really hard time trying to locate all the gear. I almost got all of it, I had to make what I couldn't find.

@Hoff: I REALLY hate this mustache. I look like a bad 70's porn star.

@Snake_Eyes: It's yours for the low low price of $500.

I am still going to enter, I just need to find a suit that will fit me correctly without spending a hell of a lot. "Aka find someone my size with a black suit."
