18 to buy a replica, 18 to play in games*.



*There are a few exceptions to this, but those exceptions are few and far between.

Actually I would think it is feasible to have a club at a high school. So long as there are no replicas on school grounds. All that would have to happen is the meetings would be to discuss games and tactics and the events wouldn't be official club functions.

Then what would be the point of having it as a school affiliated club? Just make a forum and you have what you described.

That's easy social interaction is a good thing. To often we get lost in the internet and forget about reality.

And that's what Ops are for, or the local library. Trying to affiliate it with a middle/high school is just pointless, like me trying to get my 40k business loan.

Well I actually went through a fraction of the club registration process here at OSU to see if it was feasible....

....about an hour into the conversation with an unnamed administrator I politely excused myself and dont plan on pressing the issue again. Aparently OSU has had a bad experience with paintball teams and associates Airsoft with said idiots. The fact that the person couldnt get it into their head we shoot each other for fun without mal-intent was the most frustrating part, that and they were a flaming bleeding heart liberal didnt help. We kept getting onto the topic of firearms on campus and how there should be more regulation on weapons in the US.


As for the idea of airsoft weapons being limited to 18+, I thought it was already illegal for someone under the age of 18 to purchase an airsoft gun. Sure its easily circumvented but still its illegal. However I know many young airsofters that exhibit a much higher sportsmanship than older players. Sure there are bad apples but overall I would like to think there are not many. A small few make the larger majority look bad.

I doubt there would be any way to officially affiliate the team/club with the school. I find myself agreeing with Congofal, any mention of 'guns' of any kind around school get's people riled up.
And the prospect of a team of kids does actually work, for a while our team consisted of a dozen or so high schoolers almost exclusively from the same school; it was only until a few of us convinced our parents to try airsoft that we actually got adult involvement. My point being that a teenage team is in fact feasible, but I doubt you could get it attached to a school in any way.
