He's going to have to get over that if he want's people to drop $150+ on his product.

I know people working on similar mods in my area and they are running into significant longevity issues with the hop.

I'm all for new technology, but I need to see proof that it works before I drop $$ on it.

Longevity issues? The BB does not contact the bucking, so there is no wear. I don't think anybody is able to wear one yet.. I think your thinking of the Flat hop where you have to cut the bucking to fold it back over into the hop window. That wears fast as you are putting direct contact onto the fragile silicon rubber the bucking is made out of.

This isn't anything new either, and frankly, I'm surprised more people haven't heard about it..

Trust me, you think it's that easy, but with the crap people are fed on the internet, it's best just to have people try it themselves. There are a few videos of people shooting with R-Hops though, but as it's technically challenging it's sort of restricted to the more "fiddler" crowd . You don't have to drop $150+. What you get for that is the Prommy barrel, Prommy bucking, patches, custom barrel cutting, and labor.

You can sure as hell do it yourself for MUCH MUCH cheaper. A pack of patches costs $12 shipped so feel free to try it yourself ;)

What material is used for the patch that you glue to the nub to push on the bucking?

You don't clue anything on to the nub. You're basically replacing the internal mound of the bucking with this patch which is why you shave it off.

As for the patch material, I have no idea. That's obviously a trade secret. You could ask HS but I doubt he'd tell.. It just seems to be a rubber piece that's thick, but bendable..

If you can put a caliper on it....replicating the rubber won't be an issue. it's round like hosing..and it's been cut down. (You can see the one that's pictured has been cut.)

From what I can tell it appears to be a rubber hose with a 1/4" OD or similar. I'll take a look at Premier Rubber when I'm downtown again...and of course bring a barrel with me.

H nub's still ineffective because what's actually contacting the BB is the singular mound on the inside of the bucking ;)

I'll try this out; I have 4 or 5 M4 barrels. Probably going to use an X-ACTO and some surgical tubing, or another bucking from an ancient spring shotgun, or just some other miscellaneous rubber.

Why don't they just make a website, make some units with barrels at different lengths and start selling them. Would be a lot easier and then people can just drop them in a see how they do. Someone in each community will most likely get one and spread the news about them.

H-nubs work very well and don't cost an outrageous amount.

Have you tried cutting into a steel barrel..?

And it's a HUGE start up cost..

Oh and I like to think I'm that person if nobody else here has spread the word yet..

A pack of 3 r-hop patches cost $12..

What you are paying $169 for is:

Prometheus barrel
Prometheus bucking
Cutting of the barrel
R-Hop patches
Labor
Shipping and packaging

All of it comes pre assembled ready to go.

Again, this is for the people who want something drop in. IF you have the technical ability to do it, then by all means purchase the patches ($4 each) and install them yourself.

Again, the H-nub doesn't address the problem of having a singular point of contact (the bucking internal mound) causing axial spin. The R-hop fixes this.

Every business has a huge start up cost, and typically low profit in the beginning.

Do you have one you can show off at games? Seems like so far everything is principle based with no first hand experience.

OH it can really be anything. Scrap plastic, scrap sorbothane, acrylic; Anything. As long as it's uniform and evenly distributes the pressure.

But even then due to the R-Hops design, I don't think that non-uniform nub would matter much as long as it's not the elongated version. I think a normal softy nub would do just fine in a normal R-Hop.

I've been experimenting with some flat drop in nubs with spare silicon-ish rubber for the G36c so I think you could do something similar.. I'll post pictures tomorrow hopefully so you can try it yourself :D

I have one installed into my G36c at the moment, but I'm down in California for school. I think I may make a trip up to Oregon sometime this winter so I could possibly bring a spare barrel and patch set up, and show you guys the difference.

I want to say that I don't yet have first-hand experience with the R-hop. But I have done lots and lots of research, and understand the concept fully.
It is A GREAT INVESTMENT if you want to make your gun perform better.

For some of you this may seem like some crazy new idea that some unknown person is trying to market to you. But HunterSeeker5 is very respected on AirsoftMechanics, ASF too. He's been selling the R-hop for months now and quite a few people have had success with it.

I suggest that if you don't know about the R-hop yet you do some research on it and why it works. HS5 has plenty of wall of texts posted around AirsoftMechanics. lol

Gosh Minerva went way too fast with the introduction. XD
