I loved having a huge bullseye on the back of my vest. At least I had fun with my old loadout. :p

My UTG vest is cheap and functional. That's all I needed. *shrug*

The posts on here have been absolutely hilarious! And hey...I remember when we first started, we really were going to air-soft meets just to run around and shoot the air-soft guns at each other with no real guidelines or scenarios. All we had were springers..LOL! Back then, we had no idea that air-softing would turn into a huge hobby or sport and/or training event..etc.

I think everybody knows this by now..but regarding what the post was supposed to be all about...I meant what you're doing wrong as far as how your holding your primary and anything else that's not right that you're doing or not doing regarding proper gun etiquette and carry..etc...not the camo scheme, type of gear worn or not worn..etc.

And...

OFF TOPIC BUT HAVE TO SAY THIS:

I know what you mean about multicam. I remember when it came out, everybody wore it and everybody was the same (like zombies out of a horror movie or something..lol!) We wore Crye Gen I Field uniforms that day because that particular field was a great environment for the use of multicam (light vegetation, dry weed and a dry riverbed..etc). We have quite a few sets of uniforms, not just for the different impressions, but also for each environment we're going to. Currently, we're working on an urban digital set-up (gray, dark gray and black). I'm not a firm believer in wearing black as a part of any uniform but we're doing this set-up just to do something different and also because we actually attend a CQB field that has a lot of gray coloration and is very city-like. Kinda like Rainbow 6 Vegas (I love that game..lol!..and I'm 39 years old!...no, I don't play video games that much, but I will play R6 Vegas anytime..HAH!).

Regarding uniforms:

AOR1 & 2 $$$$$$
Mirage-cam ? (don't know how much it is)
Caleb Crye, Crye Precision multicam uniforms $$$$
FROG uniforms $$$
ACU, MARPAT, MCU, ABU...etc..etc $$
multicam (other vendors), other $

I may have the above uniform expense wrong but it's close. Maybe we can start a uniform thread from most expensive to least expensive or a world list of uniforms.... Moderators?

I had some kid try to sell me a pair of REALLY used woodland for $50. I told him to :fu:

Ahh poor woodland BDU's....they always get a bad rap. However, one of the neat things about woodlands is you can use them for an old school CAG load-out. Personally, I think the woodland camo with smoke green kit over it is very cool. Especially if your local event field has a lot of foliage/jungle with a lot of shadow... or day/night events.

I always tell the new folks...think creatively and you'll end up with an awesome load-out with just what you have.

One of the neat things about Woodland is that they actually work better probably 90% of the new shit out there. You can disappear in a good set of worn and faded woodland. Add woodland LBV, boonie, face paint and you're a ghost. I like the old cut too, the new stuff makes everybody look like they took a dump in their pants, because they had to expand the sizes to fit our American fat asses. Something about the old cut just looks more lean and mean to me. The pocket placement sucks on the jacket, but oh well.

In 5 years, I don't think I have ever put anything in my BDU pockets. I'd never know the difference if I removed the pockets entirely.

It's not about using the pockets. When you tuck in your BDUs, the bottom pockets just get in the way. They are another layer of fabric for no reason. Also, when you have the pockets on your sleeves - you can actually use them if you need to. You can't reach them when they are covered by your LBE.

Yeah...I know what you mean. I like the older ones too for a more streamlined fit (for those of us who take care of ourselves fitness-wise..lol!). I don't know which side of the family he got it from, but my son is a very thin fella and the older BDU's..etc work well for him (he wears small/regular or longs...I wear medium/regulars).

Son and I just converted all of our old school uniforms to RAID type. It's funny..I put those clothes away (BDU's and the DCU's) in the attic and left them there forever....after buying new type uniforms..etc. Then we got bored with our new stuff and grabbed the old stuff and converted all the pockets to our own specs, similar to RAID (or better actually).
