I actually need multicam, or any BDU. I have a chest rig, some outdoor shoes, and a shemagh, and no BDU, And right now I cant really afford one. I'd definitely appreciate it, and I could post a picture for sure.

I already have multicam BDU's, but I think this is a great thing you're doing here.

This is a seriously great opportunity for people like me who cannot afford a set of Multicam.

My current load out includes a cheapo matrix OD tactical vest, a pair of Arena Flak Jaks, used Wellco combat boots and a set of M81 woodland. The problem is my field is all dead grass and I stick out like a sore thumb with M81 woodland so camouflage is tricky for me. I can say that I definitely do not deserve a set by any means, but a set would be extremely appreciated and I will use the heck out of them. I have no intentions of selling the set either I just would love to have a pair to play in because in my opinion Multicam is one of the best camouflages available.

My shirt size is large and my pant size is 32 waist by 34 inseam length. I would also be more than thrilled to send a picture of me rocking my new Multicam if I'm chosen for the giveaway.

First of all, thank you Snake_Eyes for your service and for you generous offer.

Application:

I will throw in for the multicam as probably the oldest applicant.

I started playing Airsoft with my boys this year (more serious than just backyard play) and have only watched one AP event and then played in LOW V. My boys are 13 & 16 and they don't have access to AP forum (limited computers) and would love multicam also (they have played in many more events than I have).

We all ran with the Treadstone team at LOW V and I served as bolt action long range support.

The only loadout I have is a Chocolate Chip BDU jacket, Woodland boonie, and tan Wrangler cargo pants. My boots are my hunting boots. My primary is a custom L96 from Airsoft Outlet NW and I use a shoulder holster for my KJW Y&P Socom NBB pistol.

I want to continue to run long range support and the team would like to switch to multicam. But, our 2 top commanders are both off to college, so we aren't sure what the team will be doing. As my accuracy continues to improve out over 250 ft I may eventually move into a sniper role for some events, but for now, I will continue as long range support for teams.

I am willing to take pictures and will not sell the camo...I might hand it down to my boys, but it will be a long time before they will reach my size. I am a 36 waist and 32 inseam. If my boys have any option for a set of multicam, they are both 28-29 waist and about 29 or 30 inseam.

We are also trying to develop the community of http://highdesertairsoft.com/ for Central Oregon Airsofters. Needless to say, we love Airsoft and are in for a long haul.

Thank you for considering my/our application.

And thank you to AP for an awesome community.

I also wanted to say that it's very cool you want to give away items to needy players, but I myself do not need the multicam, but, if you want to give me a set I certainley wouldn't mind. ;)

Anyways, I vouch for Orwell, Munky, Lukens, Riuk, Dillon831, and Mr. G to get the first sets. They all seam fairly legit and don't have too great of gear camo-wise(no offense you guys).

I run a loadout of....
UCP Boonie - shooting glasses-Hakkotsu Iron Face-Full ACU in UCP camo - Tan boots - Tan NcStar MOLLE vest with various MOLLE stoofz - UCP MOLLE Hyration Bladder - random other things...patches..belt....blah blah blah.....

And my gun is a TSD Tactical SR6Kv Gen 2.

Like I said, give the guys who need the outfits first, but if you have any leftover and no-one needing a set, I'll be glad to take good care of them.

Snake_eyes....any guides on using that Rit dye to make UCP more...woodland friendly??

Hey everyone keep them coming! I will be returning home very soon and will try to accomodate as many as I can! I am still recieving sets and hope to get even more. Thank you all for the kind remarks. This is something that I really like to do and look forward to doing this again. I'm hoping to distribute these out at a large airsoft event so I don't go bankrupt on shipping. I understand that many of you are from all over the Northwest so I will do my best to accomodate everyone. THIS DOES NOT LIMIT WHO WILL GET THEM. This is only so I don't pay buttloads of shipping.

Also I am possibly purchasing 10 full sets of Afghan clothes. I'm waiting on my supplier to give me an estimate. If its too expensive them I will limit it. Russkie it looks like I will be very short on time in a certain Eastern European country, I might not even get off the plane short. I'll keep you posted but I'll do my best to get to the shops.

This is awesome! I've got no need for MC myself, but if you happened to have access to a Tan or OD flightsuit with waist fitting 30-32 that'd encompass someone about 5'11" I would pay you hefty sums for it (as cheap as you'd sell it to me for)!

But even if you don't many props to you for doing this for our community. Come home safe!

So I have worked some magic and I can get potentially get 100 miscellaneous sets of Multicam. While this is awesome I will have to get some more duffel bags. Also I've noticed that some applications are really lacking. If you want a set of Multicam you MUST write an essay. This isn't "I want a uniform cool thanks." If you want to see a good example refer to Mr. G's application.

You may be wondering why I'm asking for an essay. I strongly believe that if you work for something you will appreciate it much much more than if it was given to you. I'm making an effort so you can get uniforms and I'm using my money to get them to Oregon. If you don't put an effort in then don't expect a uniform.

That being said I will be closing this off in ONE WEEK 03 September 2012. I will not be able to get any more uniforms after that point as I will be departing Afghanistan shortly.

Re: Multicam Give Away from Afghanistan ENDING 03SEPT2012

Postby RedSpo0n » Mon Aug 27, 2012 5:43 am

I'm not sure what kind of essay your looking for, but if you'll indulge me, I'll tell you a tale of where I came from, and how I got to where I am now with airsoft, the community, and life as a whole.

So, as a wisened old man once said, "Stay a while, and listen".

My first exposure to airsoft was waaaay back in the 1900s. Well, 1998ish anyway. I had just gotten my first decent paintball gun and was loving the outdoor adventures one could have with a group of friends, some farm land, and a few pallets. Like most gamer nerds though, I figured it would be the most epic thing ever to have more realistic gear to play with. TO THE INTERNET!!! In my search for more gun-like paintball guns, which were just starting to get big with the woodsball crowd again, I found a handful of website talking about these replica BB guns. There was one site in particular that had a pretty big selection of these wildly impressive looking 'prop guns' that fired little pellets. 747imports, it turns out, was also wildly overpriced, even back in those days when Tokyo Marui was the only 'real' option and a few hundred dollars from a reputable dealer.

And so, these niffty new toys I discovered were out of my reach. Price and apparent rarity just made them too much of a headache to lay hands on one. In the meantime, I played more Counterstrike and fiddled with my paintball gun to make it a 'cool' as I could make a Red annodized set of plumbing hardware... until fate intervened.

I was discussing these niffty 'air soft' guns I found online with a friend at a local LAN-gaming center, and he said he knew about them, cause he had one in his closet. Wait.. REALLY?! Turns out he didn't use it either. Bought it on a trip to Japan cause he thought it was cool, put it away when he got home and didn't think twice about it - until he heard I was interested, and he offered to sell it to me!!

HOLY CRAP! So I quick-sold some of my paintball junk and bought myself my first airsoft gun. Turns out I was even luckier that I realised at the time - My first airsoft gun was a Tokyo Marui FAMAS SV. Even came with a tracer and a couple mags. I loved it, but being.. well young and foolish - I eventually sold it because I couldn't convince my friends to try it out with me. They were too set in thier paintballing ways.

I had reached out to a couple groups in Oregon early on trying to find people to play with. It wasn't until shortly AFTER I sold my FAMAS that I got a hit back from a team in Silverton, called Nukeproof.

JOY OF JOYS!! More people to play with! I was so excited I jumped at the opertunity to join them on their next game. Took my little Y&P NBB M9 and figured what the hell, it'd still be fun. Turns out I was the oldest player on the field, and one of the best equiped. The only player in my new team that had an AEG was our captain, Jesse (Black 7), and he strangely enough had a FAMAS! F1 rather than SV, but still, I could relate. I had a team, I had a gun, and I had mix-n-match Desert-woodland camo. Life was good.

But then we got cocky and invited another team down to play.

Team 7. They owned the portland territorys. They were heavily armed and equiped, with real military experience. They all had AEGs. We were SO screwed. Then we met Alex and his dufflebag of guns. Seems Team 7 was actually not scary at all. They were a handful of goofballs more interested in sharing the party than kicking out a$$, and thus the partyfavors were handed out. And by party favors, I mean Guns. Alex set his big dufflebag of guns down and gave them all out to us. It was awesome.

Years went on and I stayed in that semi-noob state, not being able to afford much in the way of gear, I played in as many skirmishes as I could - big even at that point were practically non-existant and organising was done on the 3 or 4 small 'team' websites. MSAT, Team 7, Nukeproof, and uh... crap I forget the name of the beaverton group.. BASC or something. We, nukeproof, hosted a handful of games in silverton both on 'tire hill' and at 'Logans alley' and good times were had. It was somewhere in this timeframe alot of the guys you know and love really picked up the game and ran with it. Some newer guys had some grand ideas... some panned out some didn't.

One of the ideas that really worked out was a little website idea combining all the little team forums into one primary location so we could organise larger events. Welcome to Airsoft Pacific. =p

With Matt rolling whole-hog on making a great community hangout, and my team losing it's fields, we drifted apart for a time - and I away from the hobby as a whole. I just coudn't invest the time or money to keep up with the likes of Matt and Alex and Bill (Pre-sniper-god status). Milsim, large-scale events, scripted operations, and new companies making new guns - along with retailers springing up all over the internet. It was a good time where things just blossomed, and I had to miss alot of it. Matt would later dub me 'The constant noob' because I would go through cycles of buying new equipment, playing a few skrims, falling away to other parts of my life and selling my gear off - only to miss my hobby and start over.

Through it all, I still had the same hodge-podge of Desert camo which made no sense for our forested enviroments. I decided I needed to atleast get something green - and since i needed something green specificly for the next event I wanted to attended, I picked up an OD green 'flight' coverall. Worked as intended, making my first real 'role' played in an event fun and interesting. Playing the Suicide bomber at.. uh.. Fat Rabbit? I think it was - It wasn't much of a shooting match for me as much as it was a 'Follow Braddocks directions until he tells me to charge the bunker at the top of the hill screaming like a crazy man and blowing up half the enemy team in one swoop'. It was great. Then I twisted my ankle and had to limp my way back to our HQ bunker and 'defend' for 3 more hours. Still some of the most fun I've had in our hobby.

Then the constant noob kicked in again. Only this time, it wasn't so much about not playing as it was more about playing with my friends. I've been to a few events here and there over the years, but mostly I drop into free skirmish games when I can get Nukeproof together for a game, along with a few of my personal friends.

My personal circle of friends got big enough we could go play by ourselves and still have a good time. We'd play every few weeks out in West salem, at Warpaint outdoor. 15-20 players heavy, and treking up to the meadow for a day of plain-old elimination was great fun. Simple, fast, clean trigger time with people we all trusted.

Somewhere along the line, I decided I needed to have some solid equipment and quite messing around with half-assed camo, and bought myself some of the new hotness - Marpat. Pants and top, along with a UTG Marpat vest and I was officially a sexy beast.

We still drop in for an event or 'public' skirmish now and then - I've been to a couple Santa wars, and Wacky White rabbit was fun, among others, primarily dropping into a public skirmish now and then at Ivans, for example Tequilla Sunrise - but now I'm looking to come back into the fray more often, with more players. I want to be part of the active community again.

What does any of this have to do with your glorious giveaway? I'm not really sure, honestly.
Been in the same set of Marpat camo for ~6 years now because it works, just looking for something new. I mean, I can't say I 'deserve' to have niffty new Multicam stuff - but I've been using the same one-step-behind camo and guns for a long time - and still had a blast doing it!

To me, this give-away is exactly the spirit of this community that really hooked me in the begining. The experienced leader bringing his dufflebag full of goodies to share, just so everyone could have more fun. I've shared BBs, loaned out guns and gear, and lead my herd of noobs to fun adventures, and I really appreciate when something like this comes up for the community too. I'd just like to have a shot at looking like I belong with the experienced of the community, instead of being the 'constant noob' again. =p
With all the pretty flowers and twigs in your ghillie.. perhaps you should take up gardening?

Redspoon thats a great story and I'm please to say that as of right now I have uniforms for everyone. I will be compiling a list shortly. I'm thinking that I will attend an event and work it out with the promoter to come and unload the uniforms.

As of right now the Army has graciously given me free reign on and uniform bound to the burn pile. This is a blessing and a curse for me though. I estimate that it will take at least 3 duffel bags to ship home all the uniforms accumulating in my room. I have also been able to grab some used combat shirts of varying sizes (mostly mediums, some smalls and 2 Extra Larges) Now obviously these are a hot number and are desired by many. These ones either have no holes or dime sized holes in them. The new ones are stilling going to local law enforcement. My plan with these combat shirts is to have a BATTLE TO THE DEATH.....not really. The real plan is to give them to deserving players who show good sportsmanship and teamwork on the field.

Also I want individuals writing their essays with the exception of Mr. G who is a parent and has an understandable reason. I will not be giving these out to 1 individual for their team. Each individual must write an essay.

Right now I have an overabundance of Smalls Tops and Bottoms, some Mediums, a few larges and 1 set of XLarge Long Multicam Blouses and Trousers. Again this give away is winding down so write up an essay or amend your 1 sentence "I WANTZ MULTICAMZ" request so that I can give you one. If your team mates want some then make sure to get them on the forum and post an essay. Any leftovers will be distributed at games I attend to those who lack uniforms.

Also this is all part of my plan to make Multicam the new bountiful uniform on the block. Muahahahahaa

Thank you for your service and what you are doing here.
I am not here to ask for multicam but here to ask for similar things that android/jon asked for.
Pakol (Afghan hat) in coffee/dark chocolate brown color, black or green
Dismaal (Afghan scarf) in a dark earth-tone color
Payraan Tumbaan (traditional men's clothes) in a nice dark green or coffee color, size medium.
Thank you again.

Re: Multicam Give Away from Afghanistan ENDING 03SEPT2012

Postby Riuk » Mon Aug 27, 2012 12:39 pm

I can't really say If i deserve Multicam or not, but I would greatly appreciate it.
Ever since I was a small child I have always admired the Navy Seals, I was greatly impressed by there commitment and determination to defending their country, it has always impressed me how how hard they train, mentally and physically, just to go out into the heat of battle and put their lives on the line just to defend our freedom. As with all military forces. I respect and admire them greatly.

I started playing airsoft a few years or so ago, I found that it fit perfect with my love for modern weaponry and military, I had tried paintballing with my buddies gun but it was just too unrealistic, there was no tactics involved and it had no military or weapon replication what so ever, I had owned spring pistols before but never a legit AEG. So I started doing chores so I could save up, After about a month or so I saved up one hundred and twenty dollars and bought a JG MP5, I loved that gun, I loved the fact that it was to scale of a real MP5 and shot in full auto and semi auto actions, It really blew my mind. But then a problem arose, I was living in the Bend, OR area at the time and I could not find a single person to play airsoft with (this was before I knew about AP) so it really saddened me that no one else I knew played this great sport. Since I couldn't play, I had a lot of extra time on my hands to put towards my gun, and I tried my best to paint the stock and handguard my favorite camo of all time, Multicam (I can send a picture if you'd like) although it didn't turn out extremely well I was very happy with it.

Years past without playing any airsoft, I found people online but none of them seemed to be active players, but then I moved to Eugene, and went online an found a group called TAAT, I texted the team leader matt, and I went out and played with the team the following sunday, it was the most fun I had ever had with an airsoft gun, and since then I was hooked.

I have always wanted to have a complete Navy SEAL loadout but never have really had the money too, and I've especially always wanted a multicam BDU after seeing the awsome pictures of Navy SEALS wearing them, I admire them like super heros and would love to wear something they do too when I play airsoft. I have 0 intention of reselling the uniform and would treat it with great care, It will NOT go unappreciated and the fact that a real soldier owned it would make it that much more special to me. I'm 5 10" and about 146 pounds, my waist is a 32" and I think a size medium would fit me. Thank you for your time, Riuk

Edit: My loadout is:
A Multicam Boonie Hat
Tan Pants
Columbia Outdoor short sleeve gray shirt
Multipurpose Mechanix gloves
Condor Gen 5 Recon Chest Rig
OE Tech Tan Shemagh
VFC MK.18 Mod.1
