How Often do you use your Sidearm?

ive been playing for almost 8 years and i can count the number of times ive drawn my sidearm when i had a rifle on both hands. its good to have if you need it, but most of the time its excess weight. the majority of times ive used a pistol have been either CQC or using the pistol as my only weapon.

Only use it when my primary goes down, or (gasp) if I run out of mags for my primary.

So, in the last 3 years, maybe a half dozen times.

I've shot my sidearms in my apartment more than in the field. The only exception is the MAC10s, and those I don't consider sidearms, since when I use them, they're primaries.

I used to run with a thigh rig (tacti-cool) and I HATED using and carrying my sidearm. I switched to a kydex hip-rug and LOVE it. I forget its even there until I need it. In CQC I used it often. Outdoors...I have used it once (with 3 kills). It's a cheap piece of kit and easy to maintain. Take care of it and it'll take care of you when you need it.

Since my Desert Eagle has more FPS than my old AK, I use it to shoot long range shots when I can.

Definitely more when doing CQB. The only reason I used it this weekend was because I ran dry on my primary as I was chasing someone down. It was faster to pull my secondary than reload (I have a Serpa holster) and I was less than 10 meters away.

I drew mine about 5 times at the last scapoose game. But only because I love to use it!

I used it this weekend at scappoose because I ran out of mags on my primary. It's purpose as a backup was well met.

I wouldn't mind using them as your primary in CQB situations.

I use it for Pistol Only, and Close Quarters Battle more than anything. Out in the woods . . . . . . I think I might have used it once or twice (and then it was probably more for effect than anything).

Magazine Capacity in a pistol is poor. The sights on a pistol are poor (and constantly shifting as the slide moves). It has at best, two points of stability (as compared to a rifles 3 points of stability), and the ability to engage multiple targets with well aimed fire while under stress is virtually non-existent. Anyone who says they're better with a pistol than a rifle, is cannon-fodder as far as I'm concerned.

I've been learning how to use mine better. It's been handy outdoors when I run out of ammo or want/need to shoot someone at a close range. I hardly use it at CQC because the MP7 is small enough and I don't go through too many rounds. The kydex leg holster I have works great. I think it's the main reason I'm starting to use it more.

I use mine when my battery dies, which is often cause i never charge it! and in cqc cause my only gun that's of the limit is one i don't care enough to use.

I rarely use mine outdoors, which is most of the time, unless my rifle goes down or I'm in a situation where I don't have time to reload my primary.

Indoors is another thing though. I find it very useful in a CQC environment when it's rather difficult to maneuver around certain areas with a larger rifle.

the only time i realy use it is when we do pistol matches. every time i pull out the pistol just to use it because i like my pistol it turns out badly
