Where does co-witnessing red dots over irons fall into?
Please buy your gear from Rick Fisher; perhaps he can buy a Life.

I dont use any scoped airsoft guns right now. I have in the past though used scopes (mostly for spotting).

Currently I use a co-witness red dot.

Ok, noob question, what is the benefit of co-witnessing iron sights with a red dot? If you sight in the red dot, why would you need the irons as well? I've seen many people do this, so it obviously works, but what is the point of doing it?

I prefer co-witnessed Iron/Red Dots, or just plain irons.

I prefer co-witnessed Iron/Red Dots, because if the batterys fail in the red dot at the critical time, My sight picture, or method of aiming does not change.

I prefer red dots, but have my irons set up as a back up, which is sights right along with my red dot, but are kept down (they are flip up sights), and if all else fails i have a laser unit.

Oracle is our Gear Whore in training

I use an Eotech replica with a standard M4 Front Iron and a flip up rear

Eotech is the win

alex in all fairness, he said "on the team" and neither you or i are on his team :D

i use all three on different replicas. long guns i use a scope, shorter guns i use irons or red dots. only time i ever actually turn the red dot on is indoors though.

So true.

;) I'm still building a display of the past 50 years of American Military Weaponry.

M1, M14, M16, M16A1, M16A2, M16A4, M1 Carbine, XM177, M4

I'm debating if I should add a Model 733, or Model 727 to the display or not. And Debating including models with M203's mounted or not.

*shrugs*

I'll quit taking this discussion off-topic.
