Anywhere offer CQC training?

Postby GacktC » Sat Nov 28, 2009 5:38 am

Hello,
I would like to know anyone or any organization willing to offer a CQC training to a non-military personal.
I was told by friends I am lack of reflex & being slow, so I would like to have some professional training.
I was looking at the PSE & the US training center websites, seems like they only offer the trainings to law enforcement & military.

Thanks!

PDX cage/PLA hold training events. But since PDX cage's recent closer, I'm not sure what's going on with that anymore.

Gack, you may want to check out Gunsight, Thunder Ranch...and there is supposed to be a Magpul Tactical Carbine course coming to Portland here pretty soon. I know each organization teaches non-military schools. They may have what you are looking for.

I'd assume you are talking about live-weapons training. As for airsoft, there are several qualified instructors throughout the Portland region who use airsoft as a training medium...I know it's not tier one, but still cost effective upon finding the right people. This will be a solid base to draw from in the event you elect to move into live-weapons training.

Thank you gentlemen.
I don't really need live-weapons training, I basically just need someone to train me how to do room clearing in the right way, how to walk, hide around the corner..etc. Because I tend to get nervous & forget everything while being stressful during in most training.

There is always S4. We'd be happy to help you out if you are interested.

This is in Tacoma, which is the closest CQC site I can think of. If you're looking for CQC training, attend that location and inquire about teams that frequent the site. A lot of CQC sites have monthly memberships who train as teams either weekly, biweekly, or monthly.

Thanks Daniel!
Since Tacomatactical cancelled the 29th competition, I doubt that they have any teams train there in regular basis. I know S4 in Portland does hold CQB or SWAT style training once in awhile, but I prefer an one week training rather than stuffing all the info into my head at once :(

U r welcomed to come over and practice yr skills with the team anytime. I know it's a bit rusty and dusty but we can make u sharp again after some practice sessions. Last time was a cramming because we need to get u up to speed with the rest of the team, and since u only have 2-3 practice sessions before Tac Tac Challenge. Now that it's canceled, if u want to slow down to grasp the understanding better, we can help u.
Your backyard seems like a nice place to practice the basics. I like your enthusiasm with CQB. Keep up the spirit!

Thanks Man!
I know I was being dumb and not up to speed under stress, and my mind was totally blank & space cadet last time :(
I guess we all have to setup a practice time..maybe once in every 2 weeks?
My backyard is OK except the weather is bad right now for outdoor~~

Are there any airsoft places in Seattle? Tacoma is kinda close, but I don't know where you live.
