Is your gun picky about BBs?

Postby albacore » Sun Jan 03, 2010 5:53 pm

I've always used Airsoft Outlet .25g BBs and never had a problem with them feeding into my Dboys AK's, but I got a bag of TSD .23 BBs and they aren't feeding correctly. With the TSD's I'll get a burst of about 5 and then a burst of about 3 where nothing comes out, and about the same ratio when on semi-auto. I notice that the TSD's are a little more polished than the AONW BBs and not sure if that would make a diffenence. I'm using the same mag for this so I'm pretty sure it's not a mag problem.

How common is it for some BBs to feed and others not?

I drive pretty much the whole Willamette Valley (Salem to Eugene and stops in between) for work and am wondering if there is anyone down there that sells BBs now that AONW is closed near me.

No.

I've fed tons of different brands of bbs through my thompson: KSC .25g perfects, Goldenball .2g, TSD .25g, Aftermath .2g, G&G 0.2g... I've even used the sample bbs that came with my Well R2 Skorpion, and I've never had any feeding issues.

It may be the Highcap (assuming your using that)

They are kinda a piece of crap, mine does that, my newer one only feeds two BBs and want shoot for like 3 dry fires. But my mid caps feed just fine with any Brand of BBs

That's kind of old news but thanks for sharing with those out there who didn't know.

Back to the question at hand...Have you done any, any, any other changes Albacore? I had a similar problem when I changed my spring out(I don't know why). Have you gone back and forth between bb brands?

my gun hates TSD bb's, does the same thing yours does..haha, but doesn't do it with any other bb. it works best so far with ASGI ones.

I use either .20/.25 Airsplat, or .20 Bioshot. I have had no problems with either.

I haven't changed anything for months or used anything other than AONW BBs. This is happening with two different Dboys AK's using two different high caps. One of the guns is new with only 500 AONW's shot through it, and the other has about 20K through it that had a spring change 10K BBs before. I can do this at will and switch back and forth with the same results every time. Someone let me use some Echo 1 BBs when this came up initially in the field and the gun shot fine so all I can nail it down to is the TSD's.

TSD bb's IMO are not very good.

I think the final assumption here should be that TSD BBs suck and you should avoid them.
