My shopping list.

Postby thatONEguy » Sun Jan 17, 2010 5:58 pm

So I'm shopping for my first real set of Airsoft gear, and wanted some advice on what else I might need.

So far I have,

My gun

Looks good so far, I have a few suggestions.

That G&G seems to be sportline, because of the price, I would spend a bit more on on a gun, especially if your hoping to get good use of it.

If you are a beginner, a Sidearm won't help too much, I myself have never used one, as I would only use one in CQB situations.

Overall, I would scratch the pistol, and add that money towards a better AEG.

-Pistol isn't of much use if you don't have a holster. Not much usefulness in general unless you play CQB often.
-Not sure about vest. I've heard good and bad about evike/matrix branded tac gear

So removing the side arm, and everything with it.
I came up with either a Echo 1 Master series MP5 or a Kings arms M4.

Now the hard part is to choose. >.<

But it would never hurt to find out yourself. :D

I would certainly second scrapping the pistol and putting the money towards a higher quality AEG. They don't see much use in field combat.

The same could be said about the dot sight unless you know it will help you, or you just like it.

The vest, I'm not sure on either. It seems bulky for what it carries, and won't be very tough. You don't really need a vest unless you have extra magazines for your weapon.

The eyepro, is okay.

Do you have boots and camo? How are you carrying water?

I might use the extra Mag compartments for water bottles. :D

Also from what I believe, alot of the vest can be removed.

If you were to get a dot sight, don't get the one you have on there, get the NCStar version. While the NCStar does not have green versions of the reticles, it has all the same reticle shapes in red and it is higher quality, plus a lifetime warranty. On top of that, its about $10 cheaper. Basically you are paying $10 more for a lower quality clone with green dot capability.

You should also scrap the pistol, its just not worth it. Save the money for an AEG that is not a sportline. Classic Army, KWA, and G&P are all good choices for AR type AEG's.

Like said above, scrap the pistol and get a better aeg.

Buy a VFC M4, my friend has one, and its an amazing rifle. Aluminum parts rather than monkey metal, and a great quality gearbox.

Its up to you of course, but I really recommend getting a VFC, G&P or perhaps a KWA.

Only problem is I had to spend some extra money on a battery and charger.

It comes with the Red Dot Aimpoint + The vertical grip, great buy, you will need a battery too.

I would definitely recommend that rifle. Why? The deal is amazing, for a all metal RIS G&P. Great deal, especially if your looking for a gun to outlast, with minor maintenance and repairs. By far one of the best.
